Good info, thanks. I'm making my first trip to Africa next month.

The wildlife genre has a big 'ol community of shady as gently caress jerks and it's a self inflicted wound. Only those one in a million shots ever get any attention, and you got thousands of photographers trying to come up with something to enter into a contest. It's inevitable that abuse and dishonesty are going to become an issue.

Just makes me respect the folks that do it legit even more, gaining recognition in spite of all the noise is a feat.

Thanks a ton. That frog was extremely laid back. I just sort of hunkered down about six feet away and we had a leisurely portrait session.

Try not to look at the ticks/weird swollen scent gland by it's eyes. Maybe I'm just noticing it more as I think more about an audience for my photos but I hate when I get a photo that isn't total trash but then the animal has some gross-rear end wound or 8 billion ticks or something.

The subjects and composition are good but the first two shots are fairly overprocessed to my eye. The reds look really pushed and the highlights are blown in the Buffalo pic.

The lemurs were wild, but the wild dog was part of a pack that's getting reintroduced into a country where they've gone extinct. They had them in a pen to acclimatize to the new environment before releasing them.

Most of the lemur pics I got were on the side of the road. Lemurs can move insanely fast through the trees, so they don't give a poo poo about humans on the ground.

Thanks for the feedback I'm garbage at post process and need to explore deeper than just playing with sliders.

Is there a book or YT channel that goons can recommend?

If you're using the vibrance slider than I'd lay off of it. It can make things look a little crazy.

Yeah, I think the two sliders most sensitive to abuse are vibrance and clarity.

Saturation is a close runner up.
