Yah that's a bad example of me trying to describe why his overanalytic stance bugged me. Everybody recognizes sound and music cues even unconsciously. It's part of design if the game is good.

Got around to watching 3d Kanojo. It was really cute and the main couple are really good together. I think they especially did a good job not making the guy seem like a dumb audience self-insert or a total loser. Also his friend's cat ears are good/cute.

That Lady Layton anime isn’t streaming at all? I wanted to watch that one. If anything I wouldn’t be surprised if Viz has licensed it (they released the movie after all) and aren’t streaming it just like like the new Captain Tsubasa anime because the key to making money is to do nothing. Viz is the weirdest anime company in the US.

A bit late, but DO NOT WATCH MAHOU SHOUJO SITE I read part of the manga a few years ago as an edgy teenager. Literally nothing but misery porn. You think Mahou Shoujo Raising Project was bad? That show had themes and character arcs; the edgy bullshit got in the way, but there was something for it to get in the way of. (It also understood that you can't just go full choo-choo misery train all the time—you have to have happiness and downtime to balance out sadness and intensity. Mahou Shoujo Site does not understand this.) Mahou Shoujo Site will make you depressed and miserable. You will not find anything of value in it. You will not enjoy it. It's the Worm of manga, except somehow even worse. DO NOT WATCH MAHOU SHOUJO SITE

The new Cutie Honey...honestly kind of bored me to tears. The action felt slow and lifeless, the fanservice felt kind of rote and not even particularly hot, the art turned me off in a way that I'm having difficulty putting down, the overall tone was weirdly self-serious and deliberate in a way that doesn't seem like a good fit for a Cutie Honey gig, and it just generally kind of passed straight through me without leaving much of an impression either way. I might give it another episode or two to see if it can elicit even one solitary strong opinion out of me, but I was surprised at just how bland I found that first one.
