Cohen and his lawyer's statements in the Stormy Daniels affair have made it clear that they did something illegal even if right now it's multiple choice on exactly which laws they broke. So pretty much everyone was going, "Yeah, that attorney-client privilege isn't going to hold up." My guess is that the various forces started moving last week when Cohen's even more incompetent than him lawyer really popped things and Cohen filed statements to try to force arbitration against Daniels which implicated him in a crime. And because breaking attorney-client privilege is a big deal, they didn't just raid him last Friday. You'll note that this raid wasn't about Mueller. Mueller said that he'd recommend it, but from the statements that have emerged this was a Stormy Daniels thing. I won't be shocked, though if they decided that since the raid is going to happen they might as well collect all of the documents on the illegal activity relating to Russia that they were aware of.
