Last Podcast has the same problem as The Dollop where what they're covering is far more interesting than they are funny but they bill themselves as a comedy podcast so they focus on trying to be funny and it gets in the way of the good stuff.

Could this be a great schism forming in reddit's array of amazing, totally not insane left wing subs? I'd say their series on Jim Jones and Jonestown was good too, but it's pretty long and a little intense for a newcomer. For shorter introductions, their recent two-parter on Robert Hansen seemed fine if you want serial killer coverage (although it's also got bad cops in it). The first episode of the two-parter on Bill Cooper is fun if you want a biography on a father of modern conspiracy theory stuff, but the second part is just boring conspiracy theories that they probably should have just skipped. Or for fun paranormal stuff you can listen to The Lost Continent of Lemuria. When they all agree that the theory is stupid, it's pretty fun. Chemtrails and Hollow Moon are good for that reason. I'd say you're fairly safe with anything starting at the Charles Manson series (147). They started doing more research and hit their groove around then. The only bad ones that I'd warn people off of would be Leonard Lake and Charles Ng (I remember liking it at the time, but that series was basically the sacrificial lamb to convince Henry to back off a bit with the racist accent and funny voices), or their coverage of more "normal" paranormal topics. The Enfield Poltergeist was a rough listen since it feels like they're too invested in proving it.

Also like a lot of podcasts that touch on mythology and the paranormal half the hosts are True Believers and the rest are so dedicated to kayfabe that they may as well be and the show suffers for it. It's not as annoyingly breathless as something like Lore but it is still annoying, especially when as other people mentioned they think nothing of cracking wise and making light of real atrocities. It's still better than Sword and Scale at least.
