I think if he does drop out he has the limited opportunity to jump back in, so we could see a Marco Rubio type scenario. This district still went R during the special election the other day so if Ryan stays in it’s not going to be an easy thing. Randy Bryce almost certainly wins the primary however.

In the crappy situation where Bryce doesn't win, I can't wait for the hot takes on how the Leader of the House being replaced by a Nazi in his district doesn't reflect negatively on the Republican Party as a whole.

There was a tweet I saw that said internal ryan campaign polls had him 54/35 over Bryce. I cant find the tweet now.

https://twitter.com/briebriejoy/status/984150924733091840quote:So I asked Sanders what he thought about critics who say he seems to care more about white voters than people of color. “It’s just not true,” he said. Sanders explained that he believes his agenda, which includes Medicare for All and free public education, will have an especially “profound and positive” effect on communities of color. And he’s right: Blacks and Latinos are, respectively, two and three times more likely to be uninsured than whites. And although black Americans are about as likely to enroll in college at a higher rate than any other racial group, we are less likely to matriculate — in part due to difficulty paying for college.

Wikipedia doesn't suggest there's any controversy behind the theory. Disclaimer: I'm not really familiar with Jeremy Scahill's body of work.

Yeah, I would recommend Citations Needed for anyone who isn't a big fan of the more comedy-heavy tone of Chapo and wants episodes that go more in-depth into specific issues from a leftist perspective. In particular, I would strongly recommend some of the liberal posters in D&D who get irritated with leftists a bunch listen to it, since it doesn't assume that someone is "plugged in" to that political sub-culture in the same way Chapo kinda does. I'm someone who could never really get into Chapo (I don't really dislike it, but it just isn't my thing), but I really like Citations.

I think Bryce can win (provided he is the nominee, which is most likely) but it will take an unprecedented mobilization of Dem voters and Walker did voter suppression. The district is so heavily gerrymandered.

Insofar as I can gather from Twitter, it’s notable that Joy Reid opposes both the Israeli treatment of Palestinians and Trump’s proposed missile strikes on Syria. Which, if you buy “Joy Reid is a barometer of establishment opinion,” implies that there isn’t even unified support for these things among the less left-wing part of the party. This isn’t new information of course but I do find it interesting.
