"regime change" is such a sinister phrase when it comes to syria. once you depose a leader you have to replace them which is not so easily done as we learned in iraq. realistically who are our options other than assad? dont say the kurds because they cant and wont rule over syria. who are we gonna install? jaish al-islam? nusra?? at this point in the war there is no acceptable alternative. there can be no intervention.
