Not today, but yesterday and the day before it. Spent the weekend with my niece and nephew (and sister and brother-in-law, but don't really care much about that). I got to dye eggs and showed them how to make the eggs have swirls and designs on them. Got to watch them search for their Easter Baskets and they both shared some of their Resses Peanut Butter Cups with me. Had a big awesome home cooked dinner with my brother-in-law's side of the family so I finally got to meet a bunch of people my niece and nephew talk about. Came home with pounds of ham, potato salad, chess pie, pasta salad, this weird pistachio and whipped cream dessert, and about a half dozen deviled eggs. Also my manager made me a big bowl of what may be the best collard greens I have ever had in my entire life. This entir week is going to be nothing but eating good left overs.

Finally got the scans from my first couple rolls of film and I'm in love with the medium.

I just got promoted at work. Came as a total surprise to be honest. My entire commission structure is going to change and my focus is going to be on an entirely different demographic. I'm good with regular people and people that are on their way towards having a ton of money, but I'm nervous about only dealing with multimillionaires. A dude with visible tattoos and a (small) face scar doesn't really scream "banker." But I guess the higher ups think I'm good enough so I took it. Hasn't really hit me yet. I'm gonna have to buy all new suits.

I just finished reading a book series and the ending was pitch-perfect. The Jani Killian series by Kristine Smith. Five books and I got invested and worried about the characters - and it ended perfectly. I even teared up a little bit out of happiness.

A month or so ago I got assaulted and robbed. The guy kicked my teeth in and has given me no end of sleepless nights. My face is healed now, I had multiple facial fractures, of the two teeth that were shattered, one's been replaced with a cap, and the other will be getting a denture in soon. But what makes today so loving great, just absolutely magnificent, is that they have the guy who ruined my face. I just got back from the cop shop, I picked him out of two photo boards, it was instant recognition, I'll never forget his face. He's going away, I hope he gets fucken deported. He doesn't deserve to live in this beautiful, wide brown land.

I was supposed to spend 2 nights camping in the wilds on top of a small mountain as part of an intro to mountaineering course, but the access road isn't plowed due to it still being extremely winter here. So now we're only doing 1 night and staying in a basic shelter and maybe even get to have a fire. I honestly was worried how well I would hold up due to being chronically ill. Now it's going to be ridiculously easy.

I'm on my lunch break, walking through a nearby garden, and enjoying the sun and the breeze. I feel like this week has been and will continue to be a drama hurricane and this is the briefly quiet center. Wind, flowers, and birdsong.

I'm watching through Forensic Files on Netflix (thank you, FF thread, for making me aware that Netflix has it), and I'm noticing a trend in the episodes. They're not in broadcast order, and they've cut out a lot of the more boring ones. They've also arranged the episodes, but so far I didn't notice any particular reason. I've got it now, though, and it's wonderful. You'll have a bunch of episodes in a row dealing with a certain paralyzing drug, then a bunch of episodes about black widows, etc. I've also noticed that, after particularly gruesome episodes (like, dealing with children or that have really graphic pictures), they'll throw in one where it actually was an accident, and the person accused is not guilty. It's amazing

You don’t watch them on YouTube? That’s where I watch them and they’re all there. The only boring ones have been like “how did this mass murder happen?!” And there’s only like two of those.

Netflix makes it easy to sync my watching across multiple devices, and I don't want to poo poo up my YouTube recommendations by watching FF there. And I like how Netflix has them arranged. Right now if I go to YT it is 100% stuff I want to watch recommended to me. If I watch FF there I guarantee it'll start recommending conspiracy theorist and other stuff. I've spent way too much time training YT's algo to avoid that. Forensic Files is the only show of it's type I like. I don't like any other "unsolved mysteries"-style stuff, period. For some reason FF just hits that sweet spot.

I took my visiting parents out to dinner tonight and we stopped at a casino on the way home to gamble 20 bucks on the penny slots. I accidentally sat down at one of the more expensive machines and bet $5 on one spin without realizing it, but that one spin ended up winning $200!

My day is now good cause you get to watch all of them (but make sure the poster is Film Rise, that’s the company that made the show—they have playlists of every season);— some random people post episodes but it’s not the real thing.

My job is massaging higher profile musicians and their crews at one of the biggest and most specialized rehearsal buildings in the world. Earlier today I worked on one of the top musicians in America, and I can't go into too much detail because of the clause obviously but there is a possibility I will end up going on tour with them. Super surreal and I don't think I'm even really processing it or the idea of how it will work at the moment

I am! I watched almost all of season one yesterday, and I'm gonna watch some more today before the gaping abyss that is homework claims me. It's crazy how good the narrator is? Like, dang, he has the perfect voice for this. Authoritative, intense, and yet not cheesy at all.

I got to pet a dog at work. He jumped in my car while I was making a delivery. He was very soft and nice and got right out of the car when I asked with no fuss, which is a good thing because I drive a Fiat and he was a St. Bernard.

I was moved to another workplace temporarily from my “home” workplace, and they were told I’d come back and I wanted to come back too. But it turns out I’m moving to ANOTHER workplace and I’m not coming back “home.” I sent my manager a message saying she was a great manager and taught me so much and made ME a better manager. Not sucking up, just saying my feelings. And she replied that it meant a lot to her that I said that and that she is happy to know she is appreciated, and said she will miss me. Made me tear up. I’m really sad to leave my “home,” and the place I’m going sounds really lovely and also is a 1 hour commute vs the 15 minute one to my “home.” But anyways it made me happy that I made her happy, and that she will miss me. Tearing up again.
