Welp, it's two weeks since surgery, so I decided to see what they were charging me for it. It's literally now cheaper for me to die than live.

I bought an AV to support your cyborg neck, I guess I will buy another, and keep supporting medicare for all as best I can. The US healthcare system is a crime.

If you don't have insurance, the hospital may negotiate with you and you may be able to pay much less than that. I knew someone who got billed 17K for a MRI and they knocked it down to a few hundred dollars.

Start up two GoFundMe campaigns - one for medical costs and the other for funeral costs. Promise to act on whichever one gets more money, then pocket it all and spend it all on those sweet sweet medical services.

My dad had a medivac, two brain surgeries, a couple weeks in the hospital and a stint in rehab and they STILL haven't told me what it cost so I'm pretty sure that they sold me into white slavery and the buyer still hasn't picked me up.

Lowtax it is time for you to turn to crime to pay these bills. Knocking out a bank or two with your cyborg powers should be no biggie.

They were always neat cars but Nissan really only had one window to make a good profit off of them. Now that the GT-R isn't a unicorn in North America, and now that you can import original GT-R's, they gotta raise the price to a sustainable level.

$61k for surgery that, had it not been done, could've resulted in a heart attack. Is there no way to weasel out of this?

rear end posted:$61k for surgery that, had it not been done, could've resulted in a heart attack. Is there no way to weasel out of this? Imagine thinking that $61000 is in any way reflective of the cost/time/expense/effort of any of this and is therefore a justifiable number to charge anyone, and is not just the result of a ridiculously inefficient system and a lot of people well disconnected from the actual provision of day-to-day medical care lining their pockets. Basically, death to America(n healthcare)
|
# ? Apr 15, 2018 13:52 |

Even if it was reflective of the time/cost/etc. it should be paid from a central risk pool that everyone is in because that's the most logical and sane thing to do when you separate out all the ideology from it. Like, mathematically and poo poo.

That was a good movie quote:In the future, medical technology has advanced to the point where people can buy artificial organs to extend their lives. But if they default on payments, an organization known as the Union sends agents to repossess the organs. Remy (Jude Law) is one of the best agents in the business, but when he becomes the recipient of an artificial heart, he finds himself in the same dire straits as his many victims.

Talk to the hospital and explain that you can't pay it. The billing services people usually have very wide latitude in forgiving bills in the name of charity. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get that down to < 10K
