I'm aware that round 2 is the best time to use them so you might live to see a round 3. That's a great tip on picking up eggs with the jetpack; I knew you could squid with it but never thought of using it to retrieve eggs! I think I know all the tricks with the stingray and am pretty good with it. As for bomb rush, I'm great at throwing bombs in flyfish launchers, I just learned you can pop the steelhead bubble with it, and the only other trick I know is to use them to run out the timer if you're about to wipe in the final seconds. Splashdown I'm bad at. I tend to only use it when panicking, and neglect to check for flyfish missiles beforehand so I usually have a bad time. I probably need to get used to using it offensively. Salmon Run is by far my favorite mode but I could still learn a lot.Edit: does jetpack exhaust insta-kill regular salmonids on the glowfly rounds? Don't crucify me, but is there any way to skip the Off the Hook announcements when turning the game on? I know they're short and inoffensive, but one of my favorite things about Splatoon is the ability to play a round really quickly. Everything else about the game and the Switch itself makes for a lightning fast experience (quick boot, quick load, able to jump into the lobby from the menu, quick match ups) but Off the Hook feels like speed calming that I really don't care about if I'm just gonna do whatever map they give me for turf war.

I think the best thing you can do is leave the game open and sleep the console when you're done playing. If Splatoon is the next game you play, you'll already be in-game and past the intro. It doesn't help if you're switching between games, but it's something.

I've left it on in sleep mode before, but I like to jump to around a bit too; Spatoon will always be there for me. I don't mind the idea of rotating the maps and it feeds into the speed of the game since you don't need to worry about getting a map you hate out of a pool of 10 or worse, voting for the next map after each round. Next question: is there a reward for beating the single player campaign? I'm in the fourth area now and plugging away at it, and just curious if it unlocks the Hero weapons or something once I get to the end.

Nope, not unless you sleep your console without exiting the game. Even then, you'll still have to deal with it if Salmon Run is going when you wake it.

The weapons are unlocked when you complete all levels with a single weapon. They're just reskins of existing weapons but they do look fresh.

Hit S+7 in TC this morning. My theory: 3.0 releases next Tuesday, so people acclimate to balance changes before the Friday (April 27th) rollout of Camp Triggerfish, along with 4 weapons for May. That weekend they announce the Rank X map selections, and the league begins Tuesday May 1st. God I can't wait. I can't stop playing this game lol. It's a sickness
