I'm wondering about the odds of going 1. Barkley 4. Chubb/Fitzpatrick 33. Lamar Jackson 35. Isaiah Oliver/Carlton Davis CB

Or somehow drop 4 to 6-8 and still end up with Fitzpatrick/Chubb and get another next year's 1st rounder.

You should want your team to get their preferred QB, not the "best value" at QB. It's too important a position. Even if their preferred QB is Josh Allen, I guess.

Regardless, it's nine days away. Just have some patience and you won't need to worry about odds.

I'd guess between the Steelers, Saints and Jaguars near the end of the first that one of those teams would take him.

Saints for sure I'd think, now that Drew Brees is a year older and they barely just missed on Pat Mahomes.

Nobody move and nobody gets hurt.

Don't forget the very real possibility that even if Lamar does fall to the late 20s-30s, some team would likely trade back into the first for him to get that 5th year option. I don't see any way he makes it to the 2nd round

Correct call! People forget about the option all the time. That one year of potential 10-15 million dollar savings in your cap is easily worth a 4

If you take Darnold and he doesn’t work out, nobody will blame you. The same will not be said of Allen who is clearly a giant project. What about the Browns has shown you they know how to develop a project QB?

Yeah it seems like everyone in the mid 50s is just fine but once you get down to the 53 area there are quite a few busts.

I saw a little video where Mahomes threw 62 mph so I wonder how they get these readings.

Oh boy is this wrong. Darnold's been talked about as a top pick since the PSU game so about two years. Gabbert wasn't a flash in the pan draft riser. No one thought he would declare so when he did everyone scrambled and threw him in the top 25. Let's not do revisionist history here.

That's weird considering you only talked about post-draft Gabbert. I can compare Darnold to a bunch of hulking QBs with decent velocity too, he just reminds me of Gabbert which I don't think is an insult. I could also call him Blake Bortles or Jacoby Brissett too if it makes you feel better about comparisons.

Pretty similar again. Maybe let's look at another angle just to be sure.

Seems like the same angles on his front leg and dragging his back foot. Gabbert shoves it while Darnold points the ball down before slinging it. That's their difference. Oh and just going through this Darnold highlight video I found a bunch of examples of him ditching his pocket though that seems to be more on his line and all the RPOs they run. He's definitely got experience creating outside the pocket.

We can go back and forth, because I can link plays like this all day.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNgBxkvwEyY

Took off from a clean pocket where the blitzer was properly picked up, ran right into pressure and had a total mechanical breakdown to throw the game sealing INT. It really wasn't just the ugly moments that were red flags.

Playing in a spread where Gary Pinkel chopped the field in half to learning an unorthodox playing style from OC David Yost are other reasons. Gabbert had a great arm, but Pinkel's Offense never asked him to make a lot of difficult throws so we never really had a good idea how accurate he could be. That's before mentioning lolbig12defenses. His ugly play after that Oklahoma game really enhanced the surprise that he declared for the draft that year.

Actually wait, the Suh game was the year before but ya Nebraska owned him again the next year too.
