Since I live in Buckeye now, there is a nice outdoor range they built a few years ago that's only about 15 minutes from here and I just go there on the rare occasion I actually go shooting. I really should sell off most of my guns, none of them have been fired in like a decade except for the black powder rifle. Yeah, low desert is either full of houses or so full of garbage it's embarrassing to be there. They actually had to close off Table Mesa a few years ago iirc because of all the garbage shooters were leaving behind lol. Unless you're willing to put in the drive time you're not gonna find anything south of Sunset worthwhile to be. I'm extremely occasional like you but if that's the case I'd rather be out on my own exploring. High desert AZ is real cool imho

Got a weird letter in the mail today. Appeared hand addressed. No return address. The stamp showed it was mailed from TN. Opened it anyway. It's a quote from a local dealer for a barebones Mitsubishi Mirage, only options being floor mats and "full tank of gas upon purchase" , and a "handwritten" statement saying they need to buy a 2006 Ion. They did offer a pretty surprising price on it... $4500 in rebates, bringing it far below $10k, plus offering $1500 for the Saturd (guess they don't know it's wrecked and half stripped), but why the gently caress would I want to drive a base 3 cylinder Mirage when the Saturn they're referring to has power windows/locks/mirrors, keyless entry, an engine with a full liter of displacement over it, and is overall a much more comfortable car? The new Saturd is in GF's name for now (we'll put it in my name in a few weeks), and isn't linked to me in any way outside of it being on my insurance. The only thing I can come up with is maybe they got some notification from the state that I requested a paper title? Sorry buddy, I'm not gonna drive a base Mirage (.... any Mirage) for $8000. You'd have to pay me to drive it. Geoj posted:I took yesterday off to fill out all of the onboarding paperwork for my new job (and because why not, what are they going to do - fire me?) and emailed my resignation around 1 PM once that was complete. So the first job I quit, I emailed a 2 week notice to my manager (I had started as external tech support, then got moved to internal tech support, then started writing training documents, all in less than a year, not bad for babby's first real job!). I had been trying to move to overnights so I could go to college (I was 20 at the time, and the company had tuition reimbursement). They refused, and the classes I wanted to take were all morning (I worked 7a-4p). Going to school was, at the time, more important to me. I was also really bitter because they had "lost" my benefits enrollment paperwork, and refused to fix anything about it. They didn't walk me out that day, and I worked the full 2 weeks (with a comment about how weird it was to do a mid-week 2 week notice instead of on a Friday?). But at 3:30pm on my last day, security showed up, and demanded to search all of my belongings, and my pockets. My boss walked over laughing, security was laughing, they said they were just busting my balls. No, if they were busting my balls, they wouldn't have patted me down. Joke's on them, security did a halfassed glance at my backpack. This was before flash drives were common (hell I don't even know if my work PC had USB ports), and my desktop PC there didn't have a CD burner (I had ISDN at home, so I guess I could have emailed everything to myself, on hindsight... they really didn't monitor poo poo, since it was all Win95). I walked out with printed copies of all of the training documentation I wrote. Never did anything with it, they had copies of it all, but if you're going to trust a 19-20 year old to write corporation-wide training documentation, you should expect that poo poo to walk out. Despite that poo poo being 20+ years old, a lot of it still works on modern credit card terminals/PIN pads. The company is still very much around (they're a huge company that primarily does marketing and private label credit cards today, used to run their own credit card processing network for a lot of companies you guys would recognize, for which I provided both internal and external tech support, from dumb terminal to CC terminal to point of sale to mainframe applications), I even did support for goddamned gas pumps, but most of what I worked with is long gone from their business model. Larrymer posted:Let me know if you found the TSB #. I found something close but doesn't sound exactly like this. Also PM me an email address to send info. Yeah, I had found a lot of the text for the TSB, but no diagrams or templates. The description in the TSB is dead on for what's going on. I don't know if it's the same cause (casting flash or broken foam clogging the drain), but I'm 99% positive the evaporator box drain is clogged. The evaporator drains into the heater box (as does the cowl), and I've already run it through a car wash without any surprise water from under the dash. It only leaks when I use the AC. I can get a serious waterfall out of the fan motor if I take a hard left turn (the evaporator box sits to the left of the fan, and a bit below). It's also ice cold water. That TSB at least gives me a good starting point on where to cut into the evaporator box without (a) damaging the evaporator and (b) gaining easy access to the drain, and even gives a GM part number for a rubber plug to seal the hole back up. So it's certainly worth a shot; worst case, I've cut a hole into the evaporator box and have a GM p/n for a plug to seal it back up. Oh yeah, (c) don't have to rip the dash out. Britgoons: I am sure you are all familiar with EuroCarParts https://www.eurocarparts.com/ and their bizarre pricing strategy of high prices on the website with discount codes on the same website. Well, I found this oddly-similar site https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/ with a smaller range of the same products at cheaper prices, even with the ECP discount codes applied. I ordered from both and they are the same company: same products, same DHL shipping, same packaging, everything
