Oh man you guys were right about Black. What a piece of poo poo. I haven't seen such an inconsistent game in a while. It'd be good to remember that until last gen expectations on consoles and PCs were pretty different due to their considerable hardware differences. It was a perfectly decent game for what it was back in the day. See: Far Cry Instincts.

The second to last level is fighting across a brown bridge covered in brown cars against enemies behind brown cover surrounded by brown landmines who are guarding the brown building. Wait ive more; there are a couple of mandatory destructible pieces of terrain that dont look destructible and take more hits than reasonable that also produce infinite enemies about 2/3rds the way through the game so look out for that tedious progress and fun stopper.

Black gets rightfully forgotten now for being nothing special, but when it came out people were making a big deal about it because it was only on the original Xbox and the 360 wasn't originally backwards compatible with it. There was this bizarre conspiracy theory going about how Microsoft had sabotaged the game by not making it backwards compatible so it couldn't compete with Halo. It wasn't a terrible game but it wasn't an exceptional game either, and it had the unfortunate luck of being one of the last games on a dead end console.

I used to get frustrated if you miss the qte finisher prompt and need to reweaken a minotaur or whatever They were mainly bout graphics. Gow3 still looks phenomenal

No. The first two are legit great games with good gameplay and interesting set pieces that don't wear out their welcome. This thread has some real terrible revisionist history at times.

Black was like Assassin's Creed Rogue where the only people who played it are those weirdos who don't get the new generation consoles on day one every time. I was so in love with my 360 at the time that I almost failed out of BCIT. (kinda like Canadian MIT)

I must've misread it the other day. I could've sworn it was 05. Regardless tying it to the 360 is weird since by then nobody was buying multiplat stuff for Xbox unless they really loved that dumb controller. And even still Xbox had Halo so it might as well had been PS2 exclusive.

Its a shame because there isnt much gun variety, theyre not interesting to use, and feel fairly limp. If you arent getting headshots youre basically tickling people.

I’ve been playing a ton of SSX 3 and it’s still one of the best designed games ever and the fuckin sound design on the music tracks in game is still better than anything in the last 15 years since. It’s so great they got the individual stems to the tracks and mix them in and out on the fly depending on how well you’re doing and where you are in the tracks.
