The LGS just placed an order for a Ruger Gunsite Scout with the composite stock and comp. it’s supposely lighter than the Steyr Scout. Now to find me a used 2x aimpoint or a Burris Scout scope.

I have a older AR-15 bought in 1998, during the first AWB; meaning its missing muzzle device and bayonet mount. Can I switch the barrel or stock out to something more modern? It's a DPMS

Yes. You could probably get a decent upper for what a new barrel and having it spaced would cost. Then you'll always have a spare complete upper.

Yeah, if you have everything to do a barrel change at home, cool. If not, it's money at a smith's shop. Even if it only takes the smith five minutes, you're still paying to have the labor done, and that money can go towards another upper.

Saying you're going to make X illegal on May 1st doesn't mean it's illegal to have/do X until the law passes AND comes into effect. If you know something is going to be illegal to posses in two weeks and you buy/obtain a bunch of them then you might be retarded but it's not an illegal act at that time.
