staff announced for the Bloom into You anime. Directed by Makoto Kato (Beautiful Bones, several episodes of re;creators and aldnoah zero), written by Jukki Hanada (Love Live, A Place Further than the Universe, Sound Euphonium), character designs by Hiroaki Gohda (Amagami SS, Love, Elections, and Chocolate) Not that familiar with Kato and Gohda but Hanada is a great choice.

I'm a little surprised it's coming in October - feel like these announcements usually come further in advance. Still, cautiously optimistic about the staff. Re:Creators wasn't a good show, but I liked how it looked at least, so if Bloom looks that nice and Hanada can do their usual caliber of work adapting the script then I'll be thrilled.

I saw the screenshots where the bullies literally stuffed the MC's shoe too full of razors and poo poo for anyone to actually try and put them on and that poo poo is more like parody than actual believable darkness.

if you think the author of mahou shoujo site did any research at all on how victims of domestic abuse behave youre giving him way too much credit the entire thing just felt extremely insulting. bullying is super bad in japan and dumb exploitation revenge fantasy stuff is like, the opposite of how i want the issue to be handled. it isnt even well done revenge fantasy at least not from what i saw of the first ep because half the people who were loving with her dont get any comeuppance and the other half just get their comeuppance in a way thats super distanced from her. theres no catharsis in the guy who spent seven minutes going on about how, specifically, he was going to rape her getting teleported to the Train Dimension and ran over by a train, it's too removed from A) what he was doing to deserve that and B) the victim of his crimes, even if she was the one who teleported him there.
