this is kind of my problem with PRS guitars as well. guitars look amazing, but Christ I hate the finishes. now if I see a flat black custom 24 sometime, that's going to be hard to resist

It's disappointing to hear something so gosh darn boring coming out of something that looks like a Harp and a Bass Guitar had a long, coke-fueled hate-gently caress-fest. I bet that, for all the fun we have mocking Colin Marston and his Warr guitars, I bet he could do some cheesy but rad tunes with something like this.

I really wish they had one that worked on my Steinberger but how the gently caress that'd work I have no clue.

I thought most of the problem with the robo tuners was the combination of Gibson cheaping out on their licensed version and also Gibson's primary market wanting poo poo exactly like it was in 1960whatever when jimmy page first touched a les paul

Speaking of: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2127725344/help-build-the-guitar-of-tomorrow-alquier-guitars/description I feel like this is slightly disingenuous with the "Stop using endangered wood with our Bamboo guitar!" because 1) There are lots of non-endangered/sustainable woods being used for guitars already 2) Guitars have a habit of lasting for a long time, so more standard maple or ash or whatnot seems reasonable given the lifespan of a guitar versus the tree harvested 3) The bamboo seems to mostly be for veneer and fretboard and they're likely using conventional guitar woods for the rest. I have nothing against the part of not using threatened wood - that part is great. But I feel like this is solving a problem that's already been solved, it's just that tonewood people still want their rosewood and mahogany.
