Most shitheads I see are the passive aggressive sorts who immediately kick people from their dungeon group for not having a high enough CP or whatever. This happened to me the other day because I'm sub-300 even though I can do Vet White-Gold Tower

Also for god's sake turn off zone chat the first time you log in, and never turn it back on. This rule applies to literally every MMO. It's just a chatroom for all the people who aren't smart enough to turn it off.

Zone chat can be useful for certain things. World Boss Groups (including getting quest shares in Wrothgar), Dolmen Groups, uh... I've never pubbed a trial but I see that advertised a lot? Ok so its not useful for much. It's mostly idiots being idiots and idiots trolling idiots, but I don't have it turned off

I think you can either Right Click the chat tab an click Options, which let's you toggle various channels. Or just click the cog-looking icon in the top right of the chat window.

My experience w/ pugs has been pretty much the same as what others have said, in PvE land the shitheads are rare enough to be noteworthy. I actually had a great nAA run last night w/ a group of randos, but I only felt confident enough to jump in b/c i have a bit of experience in goon dungeon/trial groups under my belt.

On that specific character no, but I mentioned the @name in guild chat and Gondor immediately went "Oh God" and then explained that the dude was in fact a GO on another toon.

Been playing and really liking the game so far. Got to about lvl 40 before I realized I rolled the wrong race to PvP with goons (Breton). I saw a race change option, will that cover it? I'm super casual player and it will take me a solid month to hit max level if I have to reroll. And yes I want to PvP with goons, I know I can join the guild even with my Breton. Very nice. Race has nothing to do with PvP, faction choice in Cyrodiil does. If that's the case you rolled a DC which is actually a good thing since GoonPvP is currently running on DC to avoid adding to the population imbalance in our home campaign.

To my understanding, the only bad choice to pvp with goons is AD. They seem to switch back and forth between DC and EP but never AD.

Glad to hear it. So far I've mastered the signature moves of "getting two shot by someone who is level 1000" and "spamming the night blade stealth to flee in terror". Hopefully someone helpful can take me under thier wing. I'm not bad at games, eso is just so much different from the usual mmo I'm just sorta taking it as I go and probably missing some important things along the way.

From what I can tell ESO PvP is largely "who can spam all of their damaging abilities at the other person first." At least in the case of 1v1, which I'm told the game isn't balanced around anyway.

respecs are really cheap though you dont terribly need to do any if you're just starting out just find more skill points and mix around trying to level everything
