Bullets do not have enough kinetic energy to throw adult body anywhere, just pierce and possibly pass thru. One other thing is that guns (assault rifles and such) are actually quite heavy and awkward to handle without excessive training, especially when loaded. Like coffee cups which are empty, it becomes really irritating to watch movies and start noticing where it is obvious that the actor is carrying around replica/empty cup and does not do any of the normal world precautions.
