I enjoyed watching like 1 g league game a year on YouTube and when they moved to Facebook, I stopped. Privacy violations aside it's a lovely website and I don't want to have to use it for anything.

I am shocked that Mike Russo is a sexist gently caress (this is RE: Francesa returning) quote:“When you retire, just retire. You finish, you say goodbye on a Friday afternoon, give the callers a chance, and move on. You can’t do a long goodbye, because if you do a long goodbye, it gets a little tedious, number one, and number two, if you change your mind in five or six months, you look like a horse’s fanny. When it’s time to go, just sense in your own gut and go.”

Edward Mass posted:You know those baseball games exclusively on Facebook? Nobody’s watching them. quote:Facebook broadcasts have averaged between 65,000 and 85,000 concurrent viewers over the league’s first three games, according to data obtained by the Inquirer and Daily News. The league’s Facebook experiment is in its infancy, but those numbers are far lower than even the lowest-rated baseball game aired on television. quote:[Scott]Braun, who has been with the MLB Network since 2012, couldn’t be more excited about calling games on Facebook this season, even if the lack of commercial breaks means he’s not able to make it to the bathroom through the entirety of the broadcast, which can total nearly four hours. I, uh...really hope it's worth it.

I'm in my team's MLB.TV blackout area despite living two states and 500 miles away and I won't watch the games... Because I'm not going to log into Facebook at work.

For those who care about racing, NBC just picked up IMSA for next year for six years. http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/149065-imsa-moving-to-nbc-sports-in-2019-149065 NBC also recently signed a 3 year deal with IndyCar.

Announcing teams in every sport must be players no more than 5 years out of the game. I think hockey would be the funniest, as they actually still have personalities usually. At least the ones who would do it. I'd pay good loving money to hear PK Subban and Brent Burns in a booth, with an asshat like Marchand on the ice. Those 2 would be hilarious, and the mic'd up takes from players chirping Marchand would be goddamn amazing. Or even better, Luongo.

The solution here is to bring a 3rd man into the booth during the playoffs, among teams already eliminated. If Tampa beat Boston, for example, Marchand could do color commentary on the final two rounds.

I could never decide if I liked Garbage Time or not. I mean, Nolan was charming enough that she generally pulled it off. But it was a weird little amateurish not entirely funny thing. I feel like if ESPN gives her better production it will be unwatchable.
