I didn't really see it properly the first time and the ref stoppage seemed a bit premature. Then I saw the replay. edit: also, someone make a streaming service with all these kickboxing and muay thai shows and I will gladly pay to watch them all. I hate that it is so difficult to watch people try and murder each other with knees and elbows.

He's only fought once in the last couple of years because Gonnapar destroyed his knee, but he got some kind of stem cell therapy and is coming back. He's really slick. The jewel here is Gonnapar vs Rukiya. Rukiya was part of the gym that just got excommunicated from K-1, but has now formed his own gym. Plot twist: the gym the guy runs is Power of Dream, which is notable for two reasons. One is that Jaideep Singh (lol) trains there, but more importantly, it's where Kazuo Misaki did his striking training. So Misaki soccer kicking Akiyama's face to pieces and then scolding him for betraying the children finally makes sense.
