Fidelity. Wait, was I'm working on again?
You know, Chris can actually be seen as the good guy here, if you think about it. This whole time he's been talking about saving PC gaming. Look closely at the people who back Star Citizen. The remaining backers are, nearly to a man, the most disgusting members of the human race. The very people who have been a blight on PC gaming for years now. Chris has collected them all in one place, and every single last one of them, despite trumpeting their independence, their disposable income, and how they're all "grown men who can make their own decisions", every loving goddamned last one of them not only ate poo poo when Chris Roberts told them to, but looked at him with fresh poo poo still around and in their mouths, and asked him "would you like me to eat more?"

Chris does not have them by the short and curlies either. They're not in thrall to anything, or owe Chris a favor. They're just obedient little soldiers all lining up with a smile to get knocked down over and over and over again by CIG. Chris is stealing every dollar these people have, and frankly, they deserve it. They deserve to be robbed and broken, they deserve their marriages to end, they deserve to lose their friends and families to this cult. They deserve everything they're getting. As the cherry on top, Chris is trying to build an online quarantine so normal people never have to hear or play with these people ever again.

That's what I call saving PC gaming. Sort of a self-selecting gamer eugenics program, and I'll be damned if it's not working perfectly.

Oh hey the backers realize we've reached a point where CIG doesn't want to use store credit? It's weird to be posting with people years in the past.

We were mocking them two years ago for how much of a scam it was to not honor their own gift cards or store credit specifically to target new money. It's only just now that this is an issue?

I mean I applaud any backer that starts to ask questions about the grand illusion but you would think if this was this guys personal line he would have figured it out a long time ago.

Seriously, did I have a stroke? We've been making fun of this obvious cash grab tactic forever. Why is it only now that people are going "Ohhhhhhhhhhh"

You're right that many whales will go back to the CIG teat but every concept sale sees a few whales nail their wallets shut indefinitely. CIG's food source of whale meat is steadily going extinct.

Nothing. Seperately with new money you get a warthog Cyclone with the second tier and a tank with third tier as well as LTI. The bundle gives you all that for the same price as the three tiers combined, saving you having to click buy two more times I guess.

Fun Fact: Store credits don't get you LTI even with the bundle, hence the reason some backers are angry because they are seeing the blatant cash grab.

I still can't get over people just now realizing that the new money sales tactics are predatory. Years ago, five minutes after they announced warbonds, we were on top of how lovely the new money stuff was.

What's next? Backers just now realize after six years that CIG will refuse to refund someone for sending out a gift because they no longer own it while also refusing to refund items that have been gifted because the owner didn't originally purchase it, creating a loop hole where CIG can just keep a shitload of money even after they agree to refund their customers? Maybe it's predatory that the only way to get that money is to have lengthy arguments, over a period of weeks, while they lie directly to you that you are not entitled to that money until you threaten them in exactly the right way to make them finally give in and refund the items you legally own.

I mean imagine Best Buy refusing to take an item back with a 100% legal receipt because the person returning it wasn't present at the time of the sale. Then if you don't just give them the item for free they make you fight them for weeks. All of this on top of refusing to take their own giftcards or store credit.

Amazing Zimmo
Jan 27, 2006

It's interesting in a way because the last concept sale was the same, LTI with new money only, and now they do it again. This basically shows the backers that CIG has gotten the shits with melting and is getting a bit desperate for fresh cash by dangling the LTI carrot. The fact that backers all remember CRoberts going on record saying that LTI doesn't matter anymore has got them confused and worried that now it will, this has resulted in some of the more vocal backers finally saying that the 'game' is P2W.

It must be confusing to Crobberts. The backers have no idea what LTI really is, but they want it, badly.

It's kind of telling that they thought "if it was only offered to cash purchasers, it must be really really good." Some part of their brain is catching on.
