Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it, but hopefully the specialist can make a clear enough report that the govt doctor can take on board. I was a bit surprised they found some slack in the system to be honest, but I think the problems with getting DSP appointments etc have been piling up on them in the last couple of years and they're just as frustrated with the limitations. They really need to rewrite the mainframe code hahahaha like that'll happen.

People have no idea seriously. Not interested in bringing any attention or doxxing myself even if it's obvious so to put it nicely I don't think the public have the most remote idea of the systems in place, not just on a technical level but legislative functions and the amount of things going on quietly behind the scenes of it all to get to the current state it's in. My job in the place i'm in involves boutique work and "there are no ETA's" means literally that.

The Turnbull government has quietly banked revenue worth nearly $3 billion from a new economic policy expected to be announced this year, as it also moves to demand more tax from multinational tech giants and popular digital players like Uber.

Their budget bottom line relies on getting more tax from Uber. lol

"That's why I put up with it."
I should also mention that, even seven years ago, I had gotten a job at a major retailer that was opening a store in about three months while I was on newstart. Despite this, I was still required to apply for work and start attending JSA appointments until it opened because apparently proof from a huge global company that I did definitely have a job at the ready was not good enough.

Lord knows how much worse it'd be now.

I think I'm on my third certificate for my bone marrow transplant so god help me when this one expires. Especially because I live with my dad right now and he wants to move to Vic shortly while I need to stay in western Sydney. I think even one bedroom apartments here would cost more than Newstart for rent alone.

Lodge the form, wait 6 weeks.
Ring up to find out what is happening as that is a long wait and the form also needs to be processed for medicare. 2 and a half hour wait on the phone.
Man on phone rudely proclaims the application was declined due to insufficient documents and we had been sent an email on mygov.
We had checked mygov every week, there is no email.
Also, the 'missing information' was a serial number that had been cut off on the document but is actually required to be typed into a section of the application. Meaning they weren't missing it at all.
Rang the complaints line, cause this guy was super rude and also no one had told us the application was declined, it still said 'submitted, pending' on mygov.
On the phone for an hour waiting.
Complaints line person is quite nice, checks and see no message was sent to us. Sorts a few things out.
We relodge the form, after mygov has a sad for a literal day and won't upload the document.
Ring centrelink to check the application is working properly, this time we're on hold for a literal 2 hours and 45 minutes.
They've got the document but the application is still listed as declined on their computer even though on the mygov screen it says pending. They resubmit the application.

Oh, and everytime you go into a centrelink office they tell you it would be quicker lodging things online. As if.

I'm on Newstart now and if I ever need to call for confirmation or anything, I'm blocking out that entire day. At best I'm going to be on hold for two to three hours, at worst I'm going to try calling (on one day I got to 75 times in 3 hours and about a hundred call attempts all day long) and not get through because the lines are busy.

Queensland is actually really good at the moment. Meanwhile Victoria is on the trajectory to elect a police state.

It's nice to see the Queensland farmers chucking a fit over land clearing laws has done nothing to the current pretty good actually Queensland Government. Deb! is literally only known as the female leader elected only because the LNP thinks that Annastacia is only popular due to her gender. Also Deb! Is only campaigning on being against removing gender from drivers licences and taking talking points from Tim Mander, former rugby league referee and current deputy leader who flirts with One Nation Tim Mander.
