ideally she would have also said that, when the character is a boy

the 'a 10 year old girl would have been gross too' thing is a dumb post because it assumes the argument people are making is 'a 10 year old would have been fine, but a BOY!?' which literally nobody has said. heck, even it was a girl, their age, it would be a dumb subplot, because the entire point of the series is the bond between the two leads, so seeing one of them say that their love is pointless and have the other basically agree undoes every bit of emotional investment you've had in the series. the only way it could really work is if the resolution of the subplot is 'what are you talking about, your love is the most valid,' and that would work as an okay bit of drama but i feel like there are better ways to reach that point than a ten year old crossdresser.

I didn't glean anything from the conversation, except that something happened in the manga that someone didn't like. I didn't know if it was a character dying, the teacher drowning the lot of them, the cats mutating into Space Zebras, or what. Now I know it involves a 10 year old boy. I didn't want to know.

You might have thought it was easily gleanable because you already knew what it was. I could be wrong about that.

I know I'm a lot more spoiler adverse then most folks around here are. If it were just one or two people who do it, I could just blacklist them (and then only worry about quotes by others). But it's not just one or two.

It would be foolish of me to think I can change anyone else's behavior; I can only change my own. I guess the behavior I can change is reading ADTRW.

While I do think people are being a tad lax about spoilers regarding something that is currently still airing,

If your response to being forewarned about lovely directions a piece of media goes in is the equivalent of severing ties completely from a person, and in this case a whole community, then I think that may be indicative of some deeper underlying issues that you should probably do some self-reflection upon.

If "a boy exists and a poster doesn't like said boy" counts as being too spoilery then one shouldn't read the season thread, lest people talk about other characters that exist.

The new kitaro ep felt way more like an adapted original comic chapter since its about just messing with a human who deserves to be punished and not about a cool fight with a yokai.

I loved all the death/afterlife symbolism too. The chattering skulls!!

i find that the best way to avoid spoilers is to live in an isolated cabin and have all your supplies delivered, though you need to be sure to keep a gun trained on the delivery man to make sure they don't speak. of course, that still leaves you open to spoilers about the sun rising the next day, but there are no perfect solutions.

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting Cutie Honey Universe to slaughter Honey's entire school.

But then I've never read the original so maybe it's true to form. Does seem like something Nagai would do.

fake edit: huh, so it is

edit: that's how the original ends??? Now I understand why there are so many different remakes.
