Here is a quick pic of Jojo and Shovels(hint: she likes to dig). Shovels enjoys climbing on top of Jojo and riding him like an elephant. I like to think of them as BF and GF because Shovels does not like any of the other crabs, and especially does NOT like me, but she loves Jojo and follows him around whenever she sees him.  Jojo is the larger one, obviously.

I just cleaned their tank. They got new substrate, new sticks from the woods, and some frog moss from the store because the ONE time it's not muggy as gently caress in the mid-Atlantic is exactly when I needed some humidity outside so the moss could grow. 99% of the crickets are gone, finally, with no eggs in the substrate, and unfortunately I had to get rid of a lot of pillbugs and sowbugs, but I know they'll make a comeback. I bought some hermit crabs once because at the pet store they seemed so lively and cool. Turns out they spend 99% of the time buried and only come out at night. I set those freeloaders free in the ocean.

So I put the hamster wheel back in the tank and placed Jojo on it. He sat there for a while before he moved, which then I realized he was taking a poo poo. As he started crawling, making the wheel go round, his turd traveled up to the top and then fell right on him. A metaphor for the various facets of life, I would say.
