I think I see the start of a pattern here. Misuzu comes up with an evil plan to "get Tomo and Jun together". Tomo is too stupid and desperate to know how dumb the plan is. Jun gets hurt or otherwise "done in" because he is hapless and also a complete idiot. Misuzu feels bad and decides to "punish herself." Tanabe is available each time. She will either go work at the ramen shop or go out on a date. Then, Misuzu will forget he exists again. Then, the rinse and repeat process will occur. She'll do something else with Tanabe. Ultimately, Jun will be hospitalized, possibly crippled for life, and Misuzu will be married to Tanabe and have three children. The ramen shop will be the start of an international conglomerate. This cycle alone should keep the manga going for another few years as we see Misuzu's relationship with Tanabe progress and Tomo's and Jun's male-bonded relationship continues to deepen.
