You remember in Rainbow Six when the hippie terrorists tried to virus bomb the Olympics and fled to a nature compound in Brasil and a couple wandered the jungle until nature killed them and Clancy was all like heh ironic huh He died too early I wish he and Hunter S Thompson lived to see trump

Rainbow raids their super comfy "nature" compound in the Amazon, and only kills like four of them and get the rest to come out peacefully. They then blow up the generators and set the buildings on fire. They then order the remaining terrorists to strip and burn their clothes and then Clark gives a "if you love nature so much, why don't you go live in it " and then they leave them there to die in the Jungle. So it was basically Naked and Afraid: Tom Clancy edition.

They actually openly praised themselves saying that they were one of the few Western Countries willing to deny legal defense to a defendant. That was scary. quote:Minister of Justice Hans-Jochen Vogel stated proudly that no other western state had such an extensive regulation to exclude defense attorneys from a trial. Also the lead Prosecutor openly stated he was willing to not give the RAF defendants a fair trial.

Smiling Jack posted:the defense for the RAF was also smuggling weapons into the prisons and relaying orders for murders and kidnappings so I can kinda see where they were coming from They couldn't entirely link the suicide weapons to the Defense Attorneys, which is why they got handed very light sentences, and the official inquiry has a lot of conflicting info. This is not to say RAF was good, they were evil fucks, but having your Judicial System basically jump with glee over denying defense attorneys access to a trial is not something to be proud of. You know, unless the defense attorneys were planning to smuggle guns into the trial or something. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Army_Faction#%22Death_Night%22 There's a couple creepy things about the Death Night, including: - The Defense Attorneys that supposedly smuggled in the weapons getting light sentences and then new identities - Sudden change of guard to auxiliaries instead of the normal, well trained guards - Building access that was unguarded and previously unknown in a building that was specifically designed to hold just RAF members and was designed with their tactics in mind. - Autopsy showing that the suicides were not consistent with self-inflicted gunfire and were more consistent with a silenced weapon shot from a short distance. The weapon found was not silenced. quote:The autopsy concluded that Baader shot himself in the neck, 3 cm above the hairline in a direction that made the bullet come out through the forehead from a straight trajectory, with a 7.65 calibre pistol which is considered implausible.[49] Moreover, the investigation carried out by the ballistics expert Dr. Roland Hoffman using Baader's gun, showed that the bullet must have been fired from a distance of between 30 and 40 centimetres, which is considered likely impossible. The only case according to Hoffman that such a small amount of gunpowder that was found, would fit the shoot by contact scenario would be if a silencer was used, however apparently the gun had no silencer when the body was found[50] CommieGIR fucked around with this message at 16:58 on May 23, 2018 |

When they would capture a member of Action Directe or some other terror group, SOP was to stick them in front of a military tribunal, find them guilty, then life in prison or the firing squad.
