Reminds me a bit of the gal who did some bug queen from Warcraft at Blizz con a year or two ago, and it had mechanical limbs and lights and functional wings. But she had to wear some kinda weird footwear while in it, and during her walk out in the contest, she actually rolled and broke her ankle and fell, which also broke a portion of the costume. She still did the stage walk with the rest of the costume, on a broken ankle, and won the contest, I believe

Cosplay is cool and if I had the skill and money, I'd do a whole buncha different cosplay. There are too many outfits KCB and I want to make at some point but even the simplest outfits are beyond our grasp except for the Danbo outfit I made once. That one was simple because it was just cardboard boxes. Compared to KCB's outfit list where some of them are gonna require either expensive materials to make the stuff or expensive premade stuff.

Really elaborate costumes like those are impressive, but for whatever reason I always think it's funnier when people meticulously cosplay as completely mundane characters.

Cosplay can be annoying as gently caress if a bigass mask or visor is part of the costume. Doing a Soldier 76 outfit was torture since condensation built up so much on the visor that I couldn't see poo poo after 2 hours.

I'd never make a huge crazy prop but I've made a few costume pieces for Halloween. Dr. Solus from ME2's neck thing, Adam Jensen lenses, a giant Kerbal head. The head is the only one I still have, it stares down at me from the top of the bookshelf every time I walk in the door.

My dream cosplay project would be Skeith from .Hack//  It would be a lot of work but I believe I have an idea of how I could do it. I'd want to learn proper propmaking stuff before I ever get to that point (and let's not kid ourselves, this is me I'm talking about so I'm never going to make this). There's someone else who made a skeith cosplay and it is terrible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS8MzQFS7yo Nothing about it is right in any way, shape, or form, except for the wand, which is only accurate to the Japanese versions of Infection iirc. Then there's this costume which is...well, it's worse, but at least they *tried* to look like Skeith.
