I have some lovely Microsoft sidewinder gamer keyboard from.~10 years ago and it's loud and gross and I'm thinking about getting a mechanical keyboard but I can't seem to find any that aren't insane 16 billion colour gamer ones. i just want some basic media buttons and to not deafen everyone in the house when I type but that combo doesn't seem to exist

actually the days keyboard pro looks pretty nice, no stupid lights, a fancy volume knob and basic media keys. shame it doesn't have the dedicated calculator button my current one inexplicably has...

trip report:das keyboard pro 4 Pros: Very solid, it's heavy as gently caress and could probably kill someone volume wheel is very satisfying to use feels nice for typing, I got the brown version to make it less noisy and it's a dream USB 3 hub Supplier sent me German haribo and a cardboard day of the tentacle model in with the delivery cons : blindingly bright blue leds for numlock etc. Like seriously so loving bright it's painful if you look at them dead on I feel like something is weird in the 0-9 layout maybe when it comes to games but that's probably just me ridiculously thick cable still pretty noisy so I am still in trouble for typing too loud Overall would recommend and I'm thinking of getting a regular one (no volume/media) for work. Edit: I should add that this is my first mechanical keyboard since the 486 beige box days. I've been using a kinesis freestyle @ work for a week now and I'm getting used to it, feels nicer than the rubber dome HP keyb I had before. I've also got a second-hand kinesis advantage and the bowls baffle me
