For those of you that use craigslist search apps, do you have a list of cities that you use by default?

I’ve been searching locally (NY) plus some south/southwest/CA cities but I’m sure I should be expanding my list. I forget what the city limit is on CPlus. Also if you know a better CL app than CPlus I’m open.

Extremely reliable, and shares tons of parts with its Supra brethren.

They're not normal outside of the USA and surely they could be swapped?
Seriously, they are really weird poo poo and took me a while to work out what the hell I was looking at (I had to rack my brain and remember 1990s USA tv shows and stuff to work out what I was looking at)

A mandate by the US government about either automatic seatbelts or airbags, so auto seatbelts made do for a while before everything was aired up.

I don’t think the MX73 Cressidas had auto seatbelts, unless I’m mistaken. In Canada, most cars didn’t have auto seatbelts (they were not a requirement).

Audi had some insane pre-airbag system called the Procton-10.

Tell him about the blower!

Sure, automatic seatbelts can be removed, but that usually also means a bunch of interior trim has to be swapped as well. The trim has all sorts of provisions to accommodate the seatbelt tracks and motors. I did it on my ‘90 RX-7, and never did finish repairing and repainting the trim from the donor ‘86 before I traded the car off. On mine it involves removing a lot of extra mounting tabs that had been spotwelded on to stand the trim off of the sheet metal a bit more to make the space for the mechanism.

I remember my 1994 Nissan Sentra had automatic seatbelts. I think it was because it lacked a passenger airbag and they were changing the design for 1995 anyway. I never minded them. Kinda miss them, they were fun.

My 1992 Tercel had "automatic" seatbelts. They were on the door in the same place as real automatic seatbelts, but were fixed into position. So when you opened the door it'd stretch out in the way and you kind of sat under it. It was really dumb.

GM did that too. Mainly on the W-bodies and smaller.

It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga.
Can't remember the model, but back in high school a friend's parents had a van with auto seat belts. Only the torso part was automatic, of course. I think I forgot to do up the lap belt portion pretty much every time I wasn't explicitly reminded to do so. I'm glad they're not really a thing anymore.

That was the way my RX-7 did it. Still had to fasten the lap belt. I never really understood what the point was to have an automatic belt if you still had to fasten part of it.

You wouldn't have forgotten it if they had been in my Grandad's 1982(?) Chrysler Lebaron. It had that voice reminder poo poo. "Please fasten your seatbelts, please fasten your seatbelts... " *click, "Thank you".

Electronic voice alert (EVA) was an option available on many Chrysler K-car-based vehicles in the mid-1980s.

The EVA was available on the Chrysler LeBaron (and the optional Mark Cross Edition), Chrysler Town and Country Wagon, Chrysler Fifth Avenue, Chrysler New Yorker, Chrysler Laser, Dodge Daytona, and Dodge 600 between 1983 and 1988. Models sold in Canada accommodated both English and French. Models sold in Mexico spoke Spanish.

A similar system was used on 1984-1986 Nissan 300ZX and the Nissan Maxima GL and GLE models.
