IMJack posted:"Be warned: The GOOSE is LOOSE!" Story time! We were in NashvIlle for my mother-in-law’s memorial service and we got alerted about a group of Texas Heeler puppies at a rescue in Gallatin, about 30 minutes north. We adopted the cutest little girl and picked her up Thursday morning to begin the 12 hour drive back to Tampa. Rosie was a little apprehensive during the trip and didn’t want her near her but now she’s calmed down and is a good big sister. Anyway we got home around 10:45 or so and she was wired because she slept for almost the entire way back. So here I was dead tired, with a very energetic puppy running around on the bed and trying to get her to sleep. I finally did but she woke up in two hours and started whining, and then I got her back to sleep for another two hours, and by then it was time to get up and go to work. Needless to say Thursday and Friday were not very productive days. In any case, everything has worked out. She is now sleeping through the night and is even starting to get the hang of alerting us when she has to go out. Thread meet Zelda.

I found a couple more cute pics of my dogges. Little Pabu exhibited some odd tendencies towards crawling into small spaces when he was a very little puppy: Though to be fair, I think it's a behavior that he inherited from his mom Badger, since I found a pic of her doing the exact same thing as a puppy: I also got confirmation earlier this week that Badger will be having a litter of puppies at the end of June! So in celebration here's her being very sad about wearing a cow costume:

Out of nowhere tonight Rexie decided she loves using the wheel all on her own. She must have spent 15 minutes on the drat thing. At one point she stopped to poop and then just got right back on.

I've thought about getting one of those cat wheels, but I don't think it can support the cat who most needs the exercise. I think he was 23lbs at his last weigh-in. And he would absolutely hit that thing as hard as possible if he decides it's a great way to show me how awesome he is when I get home. By hit, I mean, launch himself into it as soon as I open the door. I'm pretty sure the force he uses when doing so would break it.

I did not get a picture but rest assured, my very serious two year old niece wandering across the lawn to kneel down beside her grandmothers' huge, fluffy, formerly feral bear-fighting bush cat to gently pet him was quite cute. She knows she needs to be gentle with animals. (Big huge tough cat was equally gentle in return.)

We lost one of our cats last month to cardiomyopathy. We're all pretty devastated, including the Obliterator, who lost a play companion. After some thought, we adopted a rescue kitten. He's 6 weeks old, 2.5 pounds, and painfully cute to look at. Edit: He does not know what to think of Da Bird. Dienes has a new favorite as of 22:41 on Jun 3, 2018 |

A neighbor's cat was hanging out on our lawn today and was feeling cuddly, ended up being a bit of a balm I didn't know I needed from my cat passing away a couple weeks ago

In Las Vegas, at the Roberto's at Trop and Hacienda, there has been a lost dog poster for like two years. It's not just an 8.5"x11" thing, either. It's a giant printed canvas that they hung up on the plaza sign where all the business signs go. I think it's the one at Trop and Hacienda.
