As far as minor things go, it is mainly people telling KCB that she had better watch out because me being bi means that I'm likely to leave her for a man.

For more major things, when I was homeless and hunting for an apartment, another guy and I agreed to combine our efforts and search for a place together and we found a really decent place at a cheap price and the landlord told me he wouldn't let me rent it even on my own because he thought it'd be weird to have a potentially gay couple living there.

There were also a few times when my mother would pull me aside to explain that being gay is a sin and that I can never like men in any kind of romantic way because then I would burn in hell.

Of course, those things are things that gay people experience as well, so it isn't like it's a form of discrimination exclusive to bi people.

There was an awful lot of harassment in general though in school. I was never out about my being bi (and to be honest, the circumstances of my realization of my bisexuality isn't something I'd want to get into because it's just real sad) but for a majority of my school-going life, it was extremely common for guys to flirt with me or play grab-rear end or otherwise just try to touch me sexually and then call me gay or a human being or what-have-you for it.

Anyway, yeah the only one of those that is I guess a mostly-exclusive-to-bi-people thing is the belief that bi people are more promiscuous and therefore are not faithful, the belief that bisexuality is just a stepping stone to homosexuality and that it is only a matter of time before I abandon my heterosexual relationship to be in a homosexual one simply because I identify as bisexual.

I am very lucky because I'm a white dude in a relationship with a woman so I end up passing under the radar a lot, though I'm open about my bisexuality. Not in the sense of me just bringing it up whenever I have the chance, but if it's somehow related then I'm not gonna hide it because despite all my issues, that is somehow one of the few things I can be comfortably open about.

I should've stayed off facebook though lol because the nice-feeling anger turned into just real sad anger, even if it did feel refreshing because basically there was a guy whose poo poo I've put up with for several years and he was trying to talk to me and explain the other viewpoints and I just started getting pissy with him and telling him off because gently caress that guy lol, dude's a tool and an awful person and he was doing that whole dumb "well I'm not saying I agree with [thing], I'm just asking questions, I'm just trying to understand and trying to help you understand" bullshit so hahaha gently caress 'im :P

One other thing I'd add is that historically a lot of this discrimination has come from the gay community. It's the whole idea of "I can't be with a pussy that's touched dick" (or the reverse). This is extra poo poo because it meant bi people were being pushed out of the very space that they were meant to be in. This has gone down a lot in the last couple of decades but it's still not completely gone.

we have some unicode grave vowels, like how you see sometimes in koei games to show long japanese vowels, and a really specific unicode sign for the glottal stop called the 'okina, and it basically looks like an apostrophe

but it's a pain because when you try to search words in hawaiian, which i always have to do because my basic vocab is ok but i cannot get my brain around memorizing all the one-to-three-letter tense prefixes, because dictionary searches don't accept apostrophe in place of 'okina. some dictionaries provide it as a clickable javascript object that types it at the text cursor, but others will not, and you have to look it up on wikipedia to get it in your paste history.

mac os has had hawaiian keyboard support for decades with the alt key and lets you circumvent this if you're a specialist who needs to type in it regularly, or like you're poo poo posting on the hawaii reddit, but of course windows does not

I honestly don't know why people like the Fable series. I remember hating the second game growing up and everyone at least agrees that the third game was garbage, but I saw that the first one was available on the Xbox game pass so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I wish I hadn't. :negative: Not even an hour into the game I'm done. Trying to beat a 50 second race where your character decides to start sneaking if you tilt your thumbstick the wrong way can :fuckoff:

Fables one of those games that would've been great if they just changed everything about it.

The thing with Fable 2 is it presents you with a few decent options for combat at the start of the game which all play very fun but then after a couple of hours you realise those are the only options for the whole game and suddenly the combat system feels really limited.

That's really sad to hear. One would think that making you ostracized as a group would make you more compassionate towards other people experiencing something similar but I guess that would be too naive.

If I recall correctly from my undergrad linguistics, Hawaiian is one of the phonetically simplest languages. Low number of consonants, low number of vowels, few (no?) coda consonants, few (no?) consonant clusters. It basically has the poo poo every language has and very very little on top of that, at least in terms of possible words.

It's just an unfortunate aspect of human nature. People who were formerly oppressed or even currently oppressed will quite happily exclude others because they convince themselves it's different somehow.

I slowly chip away at Nier (original) in between other games because while the music is top notch and it seems like the story will go places, the gameplay is mind-numbingly boring. Some of the bosses are pretty neat and some others that basically require you to plink away at a huge health bar for 10 minutes are the worst.
