a lot of it has to do with politics though pal, and its become such a galvanized "sides" battle. either you are with us or you are  on a forum where conflict and dogging on folks (as long as its funny) is tacit approval to engage as long as its creatively done it can be intimidating i think. hell i lurked unregistered for a long while too. folks just seem to forget that you cant just eliminate ideology you dont personally prefer, and some really arent willing to take a step back from their own personal beliefs to consider the person as being a person. that being said i love a proper dogpile when its deserved.

gbs is never going to be "everyone who i like and no one i don't". I don't even like conservatives at all, and I think the most odious Conservative posters who never tell jokes, derail threads about terrible people with constant "BUT ACTUALLY"'s, and who just get offended all the time should get banned and just go to reddit. He wasn't a soldier of any stripe nor did he have any medical training at all. I don't think he specifically went to be a medic he just went to participate in the poo poo going down because ??? I'm still not entirely sure other than he decided to do something good I guess? People pointed out how dumb it was and he seemed to have some mental health issues. We don't hear from him for a while and assume he died. Next thing we know he's a field medic in the Libyan civil war which is like what? Then he decided to go to Syria and we're all don't do it guy you probably just got lucky. So he goes, things go silent, we assume he died. Then it turns out he's in prison in Syria being not happy but also not dead. I guess he got released? Now I just assume he's alive unless a thread indicates otherwise. So far he's survived participating in two civil wars and Syrian prison.

I think last we heard of him he had ended up homeless in San Diego or somewhere.
