I remember Metal Wolf Chaos from the GDQ speedrun where they left all the cutscenes on.

One mission has you attacking the White House which has been converted into a battle fortress. Your support officer quips "its looking more like the FIGHT HOUSE these days :v:".

The story and voice acting are funny, but if I remember right the gameplay was like a slower Armored Core 4.

Metal Wolf Chaos isn't bad, but it's a middling action game bolstered by an insane premise and hilarious writing. Some people mistake all the praise for it as gameplay-focused so they wind up kind of disappointed.

Yes, it is what it looks like!

Everything I've read and seen about Metal Wolf's legacy is about its plot and voice acting not it's gameplay. That has not deterred me from wanting to play it but my expectations are properly tempered.

This reminds me of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 where one of the missions has you trying to stop the president of the united states while he's causing you lots of trouble at Mount Rushmore where the faces of the presidents have each been converted into weapons.

Has anyone ever run into a thing on PS4 where you're buying something and it says "Your last sign in was on another console, please confirm your card details"

It happened like 2 weeks ago and I thought maybe my account had been hacked or something so I changed my password/added 2 factor authentication and hit the option to sign out on all devices but I'm still getting the message at checkout every time. I haven't had any emails or anything about weird stuff happening with my account so idk what's going on

I know Anthony Bourdain is a famous chef but I don't think I've ever actually seen anything he was in.

What exactly did he do?

One time, on his show, he hang out with a chef that was like "we are going to catch live seafood and then cook it up" and they went diving in the sea. And the chef like, kept easily grabbing these fish, they would just kinda sink down. And Anthony slowly got wise to the fact they were already dead and were just being thrown into the ocean so the chef could look cool and pretend he was catching them. So Anthony got really pissed. It was one of the funniest and weirdest things I ever seen on TV.

Seriously, his shows had like, some of the best editing and cinematography in television. Really check them out if you have a chance to.
This is pretty lame, rip.

They also had a running gag that their fishing scenes were forever cursed and they'd never, ever actually catch anything. I don't remember if Bourdain or someone he was hanging out with ever actually caught anything on camera but if it ever happened it was an extremely rare occurrence because they almost never did. Eventually they started bringing dead fish with them and calling them "stunt fish" that they'd use if they couldn't catch anything, it was hilarious.

Mass Effect 2 on PC was cool cause you could play it with the $5/month Origin access thing but then you have to pay like $80 for all the DLC.

It's basically impossible to lose squadmates on the suicide mission if you know who to pick for each role and did stuff like "played the game."

That's part of what makes it so cool though. There are actual stakes to it. I remember the first time I did it I thought I was doing everything right and was gonna get through without issue. Then Miranda hosed up her bionic shield and Samara got killed. I was actually in disbelief, shocked that I had managed to lose someone. It got me genuinely invested in the conflict and I faced the final challenge with fury and vigor to avenge her.

The only problem with Mass Effect 2 is that the main plot is amazingly stupid. It would be an almost perfect game to me if they had written those main missions better.

From what I understand even if you picked perfectly and prepared well there's still a couple of moments where a crew member can just randomly die

mostly incorrect

each character has a hidden endurance stat that can get them clipped during the unseen final holdout, but if you make all the correct picks then the only one who actually has a chance of dying is mordin (due to being old and rickety as hell), and that can be easily avoided by having him escort the rescued crew back to the normandy

It's still entirely deterministic. Assuming the entire squad is loyal and you haven't lost anybody already, the only way Mordin will die is if you do something like send Grunt back with the crew and bring high endurance characters like Zaeed and Garrus to the final fight. This is even less common now that Kasumi is in the game since her endurance score contributes to the overall average.

also he was a big defender of immigrant rights and had a deep respect for hispanic culture and cuisine. rip bourdain, he was a cool dude
