My sons 18 year old GF works at a local Italian place and she’s not even allowed to take a break in an 8 hour shift. That is illegal already but they don’t seem to be getting called into ET very often. Young and low paid people just quit and then there’s plenty more where they came from. So yeah 10/10 for trying to get young and low paid people to vote for you Jeremy but I don’t think so. Also have you really met James Corden? Wow!

I've been a waiter/barman in numerous restaurants and quite a few would never give you a break, would keep all the tips to be distributed out at the end of the month only to give you a tenner and a look of indignation that you would question how it was only a tenner and one that gave me a disciplinary letter for getting screamed at by the chef who was also the owner for asking for a piece of toast for one of the customers. The last one I wasn't even on the book and it turned out that they were using the place for money laundering. I had another bring me in for a week of work in his new restaurant, decide he wasn't going to use me any more because despite opening the restaurant he had failed to advertise that it was open, get a sign or even a loving front door (his solution was to have me stand at the fire door holding it open like a giant doorstop) , refuse to pay me, have a decision at a tribunal that he would be forced to pay me and instead he went bankrupt. Bigger chains this law can be enforced in, family run small business owners will continue to be arseholes who treat their business like they're the dictator of a banana republic.
