Ampharos, Charizard-Y, Mewtwo-Y, Blastoise, Gendar, Pinsir, Kangaskhan, Tyrantiar, Mawile, Houndoom, Medicham, Manectric, Banette, Abomasnow, Beedrill, Slowbro, Swampert, Sableye, Camerupt, Lopunny and Altaria are all very good.

Charizard, Houndoom and Altaria are good. The rest I don't really care for.

in Gen 8 you should play as a Team Whatever member and actually succeed in pulling off some sort of Pokemon holocaust and canonically get rid of a bunch of the dumb ones

a lot of gen 1 needs to gtfo. Ratatta line, Voltorb line, Magikarp (keep Gyarados but make it rare af), Lickitung line, Mr Mime (Mime Jr can stay), Zubat and Golbat, there's probably more I can't think of. Hitmonchan/Lee can both beat cement too

I honestly don't care for mega evolutions. The only good ones are the ones that add cool new types like Altaria or Ampharos, or ones that give viability to critically underappreciated pokes like Pidgeot or Houndoom.

I have Moon and Ultra Sun bc I figured that was a way to maximize difference. I had fun and there's a lot of really cute side-quests in USUM that weren't in SuMo, but now that I've beat the post-game I'm struggling to have the motivation to redo postgame side-quests and stuff.

Game Freak said Z-crystals weren't supposed to move away from Megas, but rather to give every pokemon a buff that didnt require designing an entirely new mega form for the hundreds of creatures already in the catalogue.

Does anyone have a spare code? I have an NA DS but live in Europe, so I can't get any codes myself.
