Are there any ES quests based off the most dangerous game? Your kidnapped by some rich Thalmor rear end in a top hat. The only way to leave the dungeon/island/isolated area is to kill him. You get rewarded with a sweet dungeon house.

This is about to be a very stupid question, but I'm on pain meds so I get to be stupid. What mods should I install for Oblivion, if all I really care about is tightening up the graphics on level 3, so to speak? I have never played through the game, so I don't need more content or gameplay tweaks (unless they're amazing / required). I'd just like whatever list of graphics updates, bug fixes, and quality-of-life changes are necessary. Anyone have a post like post #3 of this thread, but filled out? The Morrowind post was awesome, but I don't have that game yet. Sorry if this is disjointed. Pain meds are loving weird. Edit: Never mind. I made the mistake of trying to get the Nexus Mod Manager working on this machine, and now none of the four mods I've tried to download will work. I should have just stuck to manually installing them. Thursday Next fucked around with this message at 05:03 on Jun 15, 2018 |

Cat Mattress posted:Honestly I'm more curious about Starfield. I'm skeptical of any new Bethesda franchise because they don't have the narrative design and writing talent they used to. A lot of the stuff that's really interesting in Skyrim is interesting because of the narrative foundations laid by Kirkbride et al. ages ago. If Bethesda's modern day writing crew didn't have those bones of rich lore/deeplore to build upon, I think they'd be churning out much blander, more generic games. Fallout's in a similar situation; the really genius parts were created long ago, and all we can really hope is that the modern devs will add some twists and modernized gameplay without loving up the heart of the franchise too much. Right now, I can't see the company whose fresh take on Fallout is "co-op base-building!" doing amazing things with a new universe, with worldbuilding done entirely by their current writing team. In an effort to repeat his success, Todd has grabbed a random amateur novelist from amazon's book store and locked them in an undisclosed office with a suitcase full of drugs and some pen and paper. It's the fourth time he's done this, nobody has survived the process.

While trying to answer that question for myself, I learned that Dwemer observatories don't include Secunda, a moon which is strongly associated with the body of Lorkhan, so now I'm pretty sure it started always having existed after they "disappeared" (quotes because it turned out we were seeing them every night).

Doc Hawkins posted:Do any of the games have eclipses? TES3 includes a section about Secunda becoming the Bloodmoon as a result of an eclipse in the DLC, and the lore about the Thalmor's recruitment of the Khajiit into the Aldmeri Dominion may or may not be related to the complete eclipse of the moons, whether it was forced or not. Hard to determine if the cosmos of Nirn are actually the interventions of divine forces or if its all a lot of religious nonsense, but where have I heard that argument before?
