Reminder: DR was using his Logic Brain to explain how ICE/CBP doesn't interfere with asylum seekers and how separating kids from their parents was the law. When it was pointed out with that he was making that poo poo up, he ignored those facts and resorted to "Dems are bad too!" Just say you love the policy, if you love the policy. Own that poo poo.

The actual consequences of laws are irrelevant and should never be considered. Which isn't any less stupid, of course. GOOD NEWS STORY Kris Kobach got his law and his rear end kicked in court today. http://electionlawblog.org/?p=99605 http://electionlawblog.org/wp-content/uploads/fish-kobach-decision.pdf https://twitter.com/srl/status/1008832085468090370 Kobach sucked SO HARD in the trial that the judge held him in contempt during the trial (a fine, paid), then gave him HOMEWORK. I think you have to gently caress up pretty bad for the judge to rule against you AND give you homework. quote:The disclosure violations set forth above document a pattern and practice by Defendant [Kobach] of flaunting disclosure and discovery rules that are designed to prevent prejudice and surprise at trial. The Court ruled on each disclosure issue as it arose, but given the repeated instances involved, and the fact that Defendant resisted the Court’s rulings by continuing to try to introduce such evidence after exclusion, the Court finds that further sanctions are appropriate under Rule 37(c)(1), which permits, in addition to exclusion of the evidence, “other appropriate sanctions.” It is not clear to the Court whether Defendant repeatedly failed to meet his disclosure obligations intentionally or due to his unfamiliarity with the federal rules. Therefore, the Court finds that an additional sanction is appropriate in the form of Continuing Legal Education. Defendant chose to represent his own office in this matter, and as such, had a duty to familiarize himself with the governing rules of procedure, and to ensure as the lead attorney on this case that his discovery obligations were satisfied despite his many duties as a busy public servant. The Court therefore imposes a CLE requirement of 6 hours for the 2018-2019 reporting year in addition to any other CLE education required by his law license. These 6 additional hours must pertain to federal or Kansas civil rules of procedure or evidence. Defendant shall file a certification with this Court before the end of the reporting period on June 30, 2019, certifying that this CLE requirement has been met.

And of course they lost track of all of them, that was the point! He was a pretty popular SoundCloud rapper, and he was having a big year with his (first?) commercially released album. He had some serious charges against him for DV that definitely cast a shadow over how talented he was, as being a human shaped piece of poo poo tends to do. I still think it’s unfortunate that he got gunned down. At least nobody else was hurt though.

Murder sucks, but some homicides don't seem to add up to the full moral definition of murder. If you live an outlaw life and get gunned down by a fellow outlaw, it's still a homicide and fits the crime of 1st degree murder, but you're no bystander, either.
