The caterpillar is cute, but the narrative is indeed uh - but uh seems popular in this genre. (Also this is one of the things that Sanzo is doing rather than making more T-rex girl, so I'm opposed on principle.)

Possibly the author is getting cold feet about getting them out of high school, or more charitably she just has a horribly tangled creative process and had a whole bunch of good ideas about early in their relationship just after she decided she wasn't going to write that anymore.

not super relevant to shoujo i guess but this is the only thread i post in where people discuss manga on the reg: i wanna buy all the houseki no kuni vols because they're on sale (in ebook form) and i've been wanting to read the manga for a while. they're on these platforms https://kodanshacomics.com/volume/land-lustrous-1/ are there any particular advantages to one over another? I think comixology might be the only one that let's you actually read 'em on a computer but I'm not sure. if any have downloadable versions natively or through a workaround so I can use cdisplay that would be nice.

looks like Kobo has a desktop version? I've never used it so I have no idea if it's good for reading on though. I *think* you can get a link if you buy a kindle version (maybe via email) to view a desktop version but again that's not something I've done and they may not do it anymore. I just remember that being an option that was offered at one point but at the time I didn't need it so never thought about trying to do it again. If you buy a lot of manga and have to read it on your computer it might be worth it to spring for a cheap tablet; my refurbished fire tablet was ~$35 and I really like reading manga on it. Yeah, Kindle has both a web app and a desktop app that you can use to read your library on your computer, if that's what you'd prefer.

Kobo's 10 instead of 6ish for some reason. Sounds like Kindle will work. Does comixology just have a web reader? I dunno why I suddenly have a preference not to use a webreader besides HnK warrants spreads instead of single pages for me the same way YKK does. I guess it's partly if I'm paying for it by volume I wanna actually "have" it in some way and be able to read w/o internet, and partly because the service's readers I've used before (mainly Viz) have felt really slow and bad whereas scan sites which I use all the time are generally snappy.
