My Consentacles Kickstarter order arrived today but since I backed the 'start my situation has changed a lot and due to my depression my parents are around my flat a lot and helping out and how do I either hide or explain a card game about being considerate towards a sexual partner

Let's face it, it's not actually going to be any more publicly presentable than the other apparently skeezier tentacle card game it was hyped up to displace.

With harassers like him, it's also an investigation. "Who told you these things and where did you read about my behavior?" is basically "Where do I need to point more stooges?"

I like the idea of a sex-positive tentacle game (esp. if it's replacing tentacle bento or whatever it was called?) but that is the least sexy art I've ever seen on anything ever.

It's very clearly referencing the woodblock style of the 'Dream of the Fisherman's Wife' design, which is basically historically interesting and very NSFW but also not, in my opinion, particularly attractive. Also, I can see the point of the game from an intellectual standpoint, as far as I understand it. It's about reading your 'partner' and attempting to work together to maximize positive results, despite having different preferences and not necessarily communicating directly. So, it's metaphorically functional and has a clear intent as like... an example of what a 'sexy' game can be like, as a certain extreme of cooperative play. So that's interesting. I pretty definitely wouldn't play it with anyone I wasn't both dating long-term and playing at least one TTRPG with, and even then I have no idea what it plays like, but the design context is really interesting to me. If they came out with a slightly more veiled version, maybe that's about romance or collaboration rather than sex but has similar/the same mechanical structure, I'd play that. Of course, knowing what the original was about, I might not have the guts, which is a shame.

I have no interest in playing it or someone I'd be interested in playing it with but I don't really mind that it exists, and if I had to play a card game with sex as a primary focus I'd choose it over something about tentacle rape or whatever. Plus the art's hilarious, don't lie. e; like I've played Exploding Kittens and Munchkin to be polite and frankly I'd play Consentacle over either of those games 100% of the time.

Consentacle is weird, awkward, and can only really be played with someone you'd be romantically entangled with. Exploding Kittens is loving dire. I'd play the former over the latter.
