I'm in my late 30s and I roll my eyes when Ocasio talks about her economics degree as if it means anything. I have a Bachelor's in Finance and I don't know the first loving thing about Finance because I have worked in an unrelated field my entire career, just as she hasn't done anything I've seen that would give her a lot of insight into the real world application of what she learned from school. I have two masters degrees on top of my bachelors in finance, one also being finance, and again, I don't know a drat thing beyond how to read financial statements and some wishy washy applications of financial theory. Having a degree, especially a bachelor's degree, does not mean you are somehow an expert in the subject. It comes across as a young person placing an unrealistic amount of value on their education vs. their learned experience.

My only good experience with economics was when I made my hardcore Austrian economics free-trade fetishist professor give me full points for a paper on The Theory of the Leisure Class written from a Marxist perspective by pestering him long enough that he conceded all my points.
