Yeah these are more than just “stories with gay characters”. Like I watched Call Me By Name but I’ve yet to check out gay porn, hopefully I’m not a homophobe

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

I can't believe a movie as gay as Call Me By Your Name had zero dicks in it. Boobs yes, schlongs no. Nada! What a disappointment, or should I say, a dicksappointment!

I just hope I don't cause too much trouble for my therapist. My psychiatrist, when he saw me the other day, was all "I don't know what your therapist has been doing for the past several years but you've gotta stop beating yourself up man" because KCB told him that I've been hurting myself more lately during the various depressive moods and panic moods (I'd have told him myself but I wasn't in any kind of talking shape at the time) and when I was a little less out of it, KCB and I both agreed that it was pretty lovely of him to say that to me because like...of course I should not being so hard on myself, physically and mentally, but that's the problem. It doesn't matter that I know I should go easier on myself, just telling me that I need to stop doing it is like telling someone with broken legs to walk it off. It's not that simple and it's annoying that this normally kind and understanding dude was just like "well man I don't know what to tell you, you've gotta stop beating yourself up so much" as if the answer all along to "how do we keep this mentally ill guy from beating himself up figuratively/literally/mentally/physically" was "cut it out"

ugh

It may still be worth exploring the possibility of seeing another therapist (like that one with the nerf gun from that viral story :v:), and looking into medication for depression/anxiety (or changing the medication). fwiw I was a shut-in wreck for a few years and had limited success with therapy, but after trying a few different medications I finally found one that's been amazing, and also cut caffeine entirely and moved to a smaller, chiller town.

Therapist is a "just you" thing and psychiatrist is a "you + KCB" thing, right?

The therapist we have is good, she's just stuck in a situation where there are certain things she would like to do but she has experience showing that for her patients who are attempting to get disability, their disability will be denied if it turns out that the patient is receiving certain forms of treatment so the therapist isn't allowed to do certain forms of treatment or else she risks me losing any chance of getting on disability.

KCB and I both see the same psychiatrist for our separate issues and we also see the same therapist, generally in back-to-back sessions, for our own separate issues. It's just easier for everybody if we're all around during it. The therapist is good and has been helping a lot when we've been able to get an appointment with her (she accepts all insurances so she's usually booked pretty tight).

It's not a couple counseling thing either, we are just both sufficiently hosed up that we need therapy and meds for our own issues.

Pretty sure you shouldn't go to the same psychiatrist. I've been advised to not even go to the same psychiatrist as other family members as it can muddle things, I figure a couple would have the same issue.

In the continuing comical adventures of LawfulWaffle, in addition to my kid being sick and everyone being miserable, I am now the proud owner of a leak in my water service line which requires immediate fixing for somewhere around $3000. So FAK, this is why people were advising not to eat that credit up. Who knows when you’ll get hit with something like this.

The item shops in the first level have like impossibly high prices is there a trick to get those items like im missing a big bunch of secret hearts?

Also im not playing the game just remembering from 30 years ago

couldn't you just sit in one spot and farm hearts from the enemies that keep respawning

i'm not sure because my first kid icarus game was the game boy one where you could freely explore the levels and it always weirded me out in the NES one if you went off the bottom of the screen where you came from you died

Every time my parents are like "you're throwing away money by renting, you should buy a house, look how much cheaper this mortgage payment estimate is than your rent" this is exactly the kind of thing I think of. (Also it really amuses me how consistently my parents forget that property tax is a thing for anyone other than them.)
