NOLF hasn't aged well, being released in a post Half Life world where people hadn't figured out how to balance shooting and storytelling, but it's characters and world building are still leagues ahead of every other FPS even now. And it sucks there will never be another one when people have learned how to make singleplayer FPS games fun again. Contract JACK ditched everything and made it a straight shooter but that game is baaaaaaaaaaaaad.

I have the script for NOLF3 right here it says "20 years later it's the 80s and Kate and her ninja wife Isako must stop a plot that will end the cold war in nuclear winter *joy division blares over the speakers*"

yeah nolf's writing is def generally better than a lot of modern shooters. though that's more down to modern shooters having really bad writing, while nolf at least makes the barest attempts at having characters and sometimes its characters have dynamics. that's something even a lot of story-based fps games tend to gently caress up, somehow

tfw titanfall 2 is probably one of the better written fps games just because it has two characters with A Fun Dynamic

He was trained by Batman. He’ll leave people a crippled mess, stab them, gut them, smash their skulls, throw them off buildings, run them over, but they still breathing.

I currently have four separate moisturisers, two steroids creams, I've been on antibiotics all week for patches that got infected and I've started a course of oral steroids.

Daaamn :(

I can't remember what I did when I last had an eczema flareup because that was only for a few years when I was maybe around 10 years-old, but I remember cold compresses making it a little easier to suffer through. Admittedly, my eczema was solely on the backs of my hands, but it was bad enough that my skin had cracked open and was bleeding. I don't know if a warm shower or a cold compress would give you much relief given that you're on so many creams at the moment but I hope the creams and antibiotics and steroids do their job and help get rid of it as soon as possible.

I read what (I think) was the whole twitter thread and the dude she barked at wasn't disrespectful or rude at all, he was just offering constructive criticism like "oh wouldn't it be cool if in GW2 you had more dialogue options to customize your character" as gamers do and then continued to be nice even as she popped off on this huge unnecessary lecture. Probably shouldn't have lost her job over it, but it wasn't a good look imho.

I'm kind of upset because I want too play it again but I know I'd just end up frustrated with where the series went.

She was't "mildly frustrated", more absurdly hostile and pejorative. It was genuinely unacceptable from a customer relations perspective.

Hello chat thread! I'm excited that the goon game jam is starting today, I'm excited Octopath Traveller is coming out in a week (even though who knows when I'll get a Switch), I'm excited about getting near the end of my second Final Fantasy V Four Job Fiesta run, and I'm excited I bumbled into some place called Ash Lake while cursed and am eating it repeatedly to a hydra (never played Dark Souls before).

Dare I say it, games are good!

I'm excited for this, too, for all the fans that would not shut up about Ribbon and/or Adeleine for years and years and years. Although personally I would've preferred the Batamon by itself though.

And if she were a community manager then maybe there would be more of a case for termination

Like this is literally hours after posting that that she was reportedly sacked, unless there was something else behind the scenes this seems like a extremely summary dismissal and another example of devs treating labor like poo poo by immediately appeasing a "partnered streamer" by sacking their salaried employees

Best advice I was ever given?

"Ticker, you'll be a lot happier once you stop caring about the opinions of a culture that is beneath you."

I learned my worth, learned the places and people that matter.

Opened my eyes.
I don't know why but for the last few months sometimes I wake up with people calling my name. Sometimes it's a hush, sometimes it's a familiar voice, sometimes it's a desperate scream, and it's always specifically and only my first name. Today it was my father's angry yelling and I actually got up a bit scared before remembering we haven't talked in years.
