I was thinking of just getting an ABY pedal at the start of my signal chain and having the distortion pedals go into the high input of the jcm800 and the time domain pedals go into the low input of the amp, then use the ABY pedal as a "distortion vs clean" button.

hexwren posted:is that supposed to be a half-rack of ribs pickguard? what the hell Everything's hosed up about it, the more you look. Despite it looking like Sizzler lunch special, why are the string trees all screwy? Why does the neck look like it's been set on fire? Wouldn't anything be better as a bridge than a tiny block of softwood?

It's not even a guitar, technically. The bridge is between where the two humbuckers on a normal guitar would be. The 1st fret on that thing would be the equivalent of like the 2.7th fret on a normal guitar due to the shortened scale length. It is a complete disaster. You're basically buying it for the body alone at this point. If I had a bunch of disposable income I'd get it and one of the bolt on necks the Electrical Guitar Company guy makes.

My favorite are the necks he makes for the Peavey T-60. Also, a company called Bastin makes great aluminum necks as well. It's ridiculous. Other stuff like Boss pedals, various Fender, Cort, Ibanez guitars, even Marshall heads were pretty comparable to UK prices (where I'm actually from) but that Petrucci model Mesa was just astronomical.

it's not much cheaper on thomann, somewhere around $3900, which is a 50% markup from what it costs in the us same deal in australia where it's a little over 4 grand converted from kangaroo bucks import costs are a bitch

But I think he might have said it's graphite or something. Either way it's dope, but it's heavy as loving poo poo according to the interviewer. Good thing Doyle's built like a brick shithouse.
