The guy was originally asking north of 2 grand for a guitar that won't intonate

You need to put Gibson on the headstock to pull that one off buddy

I'll check that out, but it's more of a "doing research ahead of time" thing.

Gotcha. These rule, too: https://reverb.com/p/gallien-krueger-800rb

edit: nm not dual channel. still rule, tho.

edit2: poo poo, for the price you could buy two and have a switcher.

I was thinking of just getting an ABY pedal at the start of my signal chain and having the distortion pedals go into the high input of the jcm800 and the time domain pedals go into the low input of the amp, then use the ABY pedal as a "distortion vs clean" button.

Everything's hosed up about it, the more you look. Despite it looking like Sizzler lunch special, why are the string trees all screwy? Why does the neck look like it's been set on fire? Wouldn't anything be better as a bridge than a tiny block of softwood?

That's not what gaslighting means you hyperbolic dipshit.
It's not even a guitar, technically.

The bridge is between where the two humbuckers on a normal guitar would be. The 1st fret on that thing would be the equivalent of like the 2.7th fret on a normal guitar due to the shortened scale length.

It is a complete disaster.

It's a 22 fret neck on a 24 fret neck pocket, so yeah it'll be hosed. Shame cause those ampegs are cool. Like wearing a concrete block round your neck though.

You're basically buying it for the body alone at this point. If I had a bunch of disposable income I'd get it and one of the bolt on necks the Electrical Guitar Company guy makes.

My favorite are the necks he makes for the Peavey T-60.

Also, a company called Bastin makes great aluminum necks as well. Here's John Snyder from Electronic Audio Experiments playing his:

It's ridiculous. Other stuff like Boss pedals, various Fender, Cort, Ibanez guitars, even Marshall heads were pretty comparable to UK prices (where I'm actually from) but that Petrucci model Mesa was just astronomical.

it's not much cheaper on thomann, somewhere around $3900, which is a 50% markup from what it costs in the us

same deal in australia where it's a little over 4 grand converted from kangaroo bucks

import costs are a bitch

Pretty authentic to the original imo ha. Being it’s literally a direct translation of the preamp of the 158 (right on down to running 27v internally) it should sound very, very close.

I think it's the middle strip of the body only, with the sides being wood but I'm not sure. But I think he might have said it's graphite or something. Either way it's dope, but it's heavy as loving poo poo according to the interviewer. Good thing Doyle's built like a brick shithouse.
