I had to put Jessie down yesterday. I've posted a fair number of pictures of her in this thread, and she was really special to me. I can hardly believe she's gone. If any of you have nice Abyssinian kitty pictures to post, I'd appreciate.  Jessie tax included.

My orange cat story is of a very big and fluffy boy cat called Ginger Rogers who lived in a big old house on a corner in my hometown. Ginger Rogers was always sitting outside on the pavement looking for passers-by to give him cuddles and attention; he had so many friends that when he died, his owners had to put up a death notice on their fence to let everyone know why he wasn't waiting to see them any more. He was a drat fine kitty.

I've never had an orange cat, but I've had black cats, and they've always fit into one of two categories: The scarediest scaredey-cats ever who will jump if you so much as crack open a can of soda or pet them when they're not looking but loved to cuddle up forever, or intense badasses with opinions. My favorite story of the latter variety is one who, when we put a paper towel holder up, refused to let it stay there for more than an hour at a time, and would often trot along holding the roll in his mouth like it was a prized kill. I think we did eventually get rid of the holder too. I miss my cats.

That's very true edit: although my own black cat is not exactly any of that. She is very paranoid about people she doesnt knows. My parents have two black kitties. One is definitely a scaredy cat. The other is very extroverted, but doesn't like me because I hissed at him a few times for being a jerk to other black cat. So most of the time now, he'll growl and hiss at me if I get too close. When they were both kittens, they would come in to my room while I was sleeping, or trying to sleep, climb up on my bed, and pounce on my feet if I moved them a little bit.

To go back a couple of pages to rabbit-chat, here's a fella I saw on my way to work the other day: Well-defined head, bright eye, long, alert ears. And when I moved a bit closer, it went off so fast I wasn't sure where it went. An excellent rabbit. 9/10, one point off for not being under cover after the sun was well up. And for those few of you who have no interest in rabbits, I also saw a couple of juvenile turkey vultures a few weeks ago coming home from work:
