The book and movie kind of narrow it down to flight attendant Gaetan Dugas, but this was pretty heavily contested at the time and since has been blown out of the water completely) but it never fails to mess me up, even with the inaccuracies.

In my ongoing quest to finally finish watching Breaking Bad and the Wire, I just got through Breaking Bad season 3. What a short and tragic storyline Gale has,  you enthusiastic go-getter. Pinkman doesn't deserve all the second chances he keeps getting.

Crosspost: I finally saw that SBC video and holy poo poo, although I do feel a little bad because in a lot of the smaller Twitter clips and early version of the youtube video, the guy in the thumbnail is the only one who was like "it would be irresponsible to support a program publicly without any research" Yeah, I know Matt Gaetz is otherwise a piece of poo poo, but we don't need to invent reasons for calling people like him out. Misdirection only gives them a defense.

I know some of the stuff was inaccurate by the time I watched it, but I’m curious, is Dugas still vilified for allegedly being the ‘patient zero’ of the AIDs epidemic? I had a HS bio teacher in the early 2000s that spoke of the ‘flight attendant spreading it’ as if it were the gospel truth.

Sure, I’m going to disagree vehemently with conservatives, but it was at least good to know that some of them still have a modicum of respect for what their position entails, even if only just. And then, of course, the avalanche of counter-examples just reinforced that.

So "the most expensive Chinese movie ever produced" just got yanked out of theaters after it made $7.1m on opening weekend. Some people are saying it's a GoT ripoff, but I don't see it myself
