No ball licking status mentioned. There's some history, organizational info, personnel, founding sources and (unsurprisingly) a major portion of an article goes into Buk and Orion research.

Google translated the article to quite a readable form for me. It's just yet another article that shows how their methods work. When you take someone through the evidence step by step it's very simple a bullet proof and work. I love how the best russia can do is "yes but UNDERWEAR SALESMAN! Doesn't have an official journalism license!!"

It's like, ok here's a picture of the missile launcher, here's a picture of it being loaded onto a flat-bed, note the plate number, note how the truck looks, note how the launcher looks. Here's a huge series of photos of the exact same truck, it's clearly the same truck, note the paint, note the loving plate number and logos. You following? You agree? Right ok, look half these pictures are geotagged, have date/time stamps, or are in front of easily recognizable buildings. We can use this wealth of photography to build a fairly accurate route and timeline for this buk, we can trace when and where it traveled. Do you have any possible theory on how this isn't obvious and true? Anything?

"Picture from internet, da? Prove war crime with google map? Funny, funny joke from amateur underwear journalist, paid by CIA, makes no sense, proves nothing"

Right, but the evidence, can you poke any holes in it? Offer any actual critisism?

So what's going on with the world cup? Has Russia actually managed to build and maintain stadiums in a good enough shape, and avoided any bad press? Didn't even see anything about rowdy ultras after yesterday's game with Spain.

It’s okay. They had to coat some problems with literal gold (helicopters spraying stadiums with pesticide nonstop, construction of double sound barriers around team hotels, etc), but it seems to be working out fairly well. Government did grab by the balls everyone to show nice Russia to foreigners too (including English speaking staffer girls from language institute in some Moscow SIZO), so the only large domestically-caused scandal I’ve seen is attempted OMON bribe shakedown of 90 bus convoy in Chukotka with 2500 Brazilians and some Argentinians. Argentinians were ignored, Brazilians did get paraded around armed dudes for 8 hours.

I mean, that and English menu prices in some places.

It makes very limited sense, because historically those army units may have something to do with the Soviet ones that weren't named after the place soldiers were from or anything like that. But under the circumstances, it's obviously just high-level trolling on Putin's part. Maybe diverting attention from something more heinous.

Lol so Slovakia, or rather Bratislava, is having a slapfight with the American embassy over a fence that's around their building:

Apparently they refused to extend the lease for the area surrounding the building and now demand that the fence is taken down since it's not on their property. TBH it's kind of dumb since I doubt Slovakia is a hot spot for people trying to blow up Americans, in fact it's probably one of the EU countries most supportive of the Trump regime and the US in general. It's kind of ugly and really out of place in the area. And there's no fence in Prague for example, just a few cops checking passing cars.

President of Poland is also a ceremonial diplomat with barely any power, if I t member correctly. And neither does he have to spend his own money for work travel. Salary adjusted, he is making more than May is, by a wide margin.

Don't forget that all his and his families expenses are pretty much paid for by the state. Stalin, famously, had a very small salary that he donated anyway, yet he and his close family always lived in relative luxury.

The current government gets most of its votes from the poorer, less populated countryside, iirc. The more densely populated west is a bit more cosmopolitan in its political views

Maybe, if the economy tanks. Then again, the only party with a realistic chance of winning the election is Platforma Obywatelska, and they're only slightly less socially conservative than the current party in power.

No I mean, historically activating the left base has always been harder in politics, it's social sciences 101. Though yeah, that certainly can't be helping.

Over here in germanoslavia, righties are righties, lefties are hardcore libs now, and centrists are... well, "We can't work with the left so we'll work with hardcore religious right and idiot libs instead. oh and the retired people's party" I read last week, from the 2nd largest party leader lmbo (and de-facto winner of the election, because while SDS got 25%, it's such a blatantly obvious poisoned well of fash and auth nobody else wants to play with them anymore).

I literally can't believe I could vote for bona fide eco-socialists a couple weeks back and not just 100% waste my vote, it felt so loving weird holy poo poo. They're still trying their best to be bad by spouting some very dumb poo poo in public sometimes, but on the bad scale they're at like 2/10 while others are easily >5.

incidentally, the left came very close to winning in a bunch of rich districts and flat out won the 2-3 wealthiest voting districts in the country, lmao

e: also, they just put this out

"We're for progressive tax on the rich and capital and want to stop militarization. Centrists and rightists want to lower taxes and buy weapons. Who's gonna lower the public debt quicker?"

They're constantly making GBS threads on everyone from the opposition and are causing a giant shitshow in the parliament, because they have 9 seats out of 90 and as mentioned earlier 25 is SDS so it's really 65 seats and I'm loving it. The only way they could be c-spammier would be if they put some military welfare queens in that twit lmbo.

In Poland the left-right divide is mosty defined by what a party thinks of the church.

The "classic" left is a mixture of legit old commies that have also inherited a lot of state business in '89 so they're also secretly some of the most pro-big business voices?

The more social left never really broke through, with leftism being a bit of a no-no. There were some fairly successful liberal-left-ish movements, but they both never really lasted long due to being a bunch of clowns and would disappoint you nevertheless. Goons have high hope for Razem, which are cool & good, but it appears that despite a lot of field work (supporting union strikes, being on point with all hot social issues), stances like "how about we don't kill all gays" keep them somewhat confined to big cities.

PO and PiS are your mainstream center-right: pis is your classic god-fearing commie-hunting conservative right that is "centered" by somewhat machiavellian fondness for welfare. PO on the otherhand is spinelessness incarnate that would like to think of itself as some liberal center but is way too chickenshit to make some priests angry. Or anyone else, really.

The kek vote (libtards with strong right-wing leanings socially) went from a niche fanclub of this country's greatest living meme to like the the second closest thing to mainstream. Following the worldwide trend of past years here.

The there's a bunch of dudes literally nobody has any idea what their politics are. Like the most stable party in post-89 Poland, whose entire political plan is "please let us have have the ministry of agriculture.

Tl;dr there's a lot of anti-left stigma, also a lot of forcing the idea any vote outside the po-pis duopoly is 100% wasted. The one good thing about PO dissolving into utter uselessness is maybe this poo poo will be over in some 6 years.

Thanks for this super helpful summary.

If PO dissolves, is there a chance that the more liberal vote will go to someone like Razem, or are they more likely to be splintered between several parties leaving PIS with the majority?

It doesn’t look like an attack, exactly - the evidence so far seems to suggest that someone flubbed dumping their spare novichok supplies and injured some random locals while the folks who poisoned the Skripals were trying to use the World Cup as cover to return to Russia.

Well the Russian Mission to the UN took the opportunity on the 4th anniversary of MH17 being shot down to yet again accuse Bellingcat of using fake evidence:
https://twitter.com/RussiaUN/status/1019262892544348160

And the Russian Foreign Ministry also put out a statement which included an attack on us:
http://www.mid.ru/foreign_policy/news/-/asset_publisher/cKNonkJE02Bw/content/id/3297701

quote:

There is understandable concern over the biased and closed nature of the current investigation, its reliance on social media and unverified open sources, as well as the cooperation with pseudo-investigators from Bellingcat, which is well known for spreading false information.

Elsewhere, someone did some research into the main influencer accounts around the discussion of MH17 on Twitter.
