Yeah I agree, he was extremely unlucky to lose that Giro. However he will have to fight Castroviejo and Kwiatkowski in the valleys so that gap will come down.

Question because I'm dumb - do some teams focus more on green than yellow? I don't ever really watch the Tour but I'm just curious if, for instance, Bora Bora cares more about Sagan getting green than winning yellow.
