My favorite part of the trailer is Jason Todd.

That Titans trailer straight up looks like a fan film "trailer" with slightly more money than average. Like I am seriously reminded of stuff like the Grayson trailer and various other things like that. Which is not exactly inspiring me to want to get this service.

Add a few more F-bombs, blood spurts, and neck snaps, and lower the production values, and you'd be there.

That trailer is basically the Superman snapping Zod's neck scene on a loop with Crawling by Linkin Park over it.

It really is kind of incredible how dedicated DC is to ignoring the vast wave of people repeatedly saying for several decades "stop making everything pointlessly grim." Like, I remember thinking "this is getting beyond parody" more than ten years ago.

Most of, if not all of, dcs tv offerings are fairly lighthearted mixed with relationship drama. Since this is made for their streaming service, they appear to be taking a page out of the marvel Netflix show playbook. It doesn't look like a good show.

Yeah it reminds me of CBS starting it's own subscription based streaming service. Barry Convex posted:why would anyone think that that tone is a good match for the Teen Titans property, though I dont know, but I assume it is because the teen titans brand has a strong following already and has a semi-diverse cast (though removing cyborg and replacing him with two white people is dumb) gaining them some extra demos in marketing. Suicide squad was a surprise smash hit for them in the film department, and maybe they want to tap into that in the tv realm to see if itll work. Looks bad to me fwiw. E: I havent read the teen titans comics, but havent the comics also been in a serious grim tone for large swaths of their runs? Soooo Titans was filmed awhile back long before the backlash to BVS right? That's the only way I can explain that tone of that trailer and even then it doesn't make sense.

That's funny because I just got an email where they were trying to entice me to sign up for an entire year at like $73 and I would be entered to win two tickets to the premiere of Aquaman! Oooooo I mean, that's the cheaper option than monthly, but give me some better incentives.

7.99 is similarly priced to Hulu and Crunchyroll and both of those have way more content. The comics library would make it worth if we had more evidence that it was most of their catalog. That articles says "hundreds" of comics. There have been "hundreds" of issues of Batman alone.
