With this brightness it feels like a completely different game than the horrorfest it is in a casual playthrough. Lots of fun skips so far!

Lots of fun skips so far! yeah this is pretty goofy but it's nice so far i remember really enjoying this game when it came out. i've heard a lot of people call the game bad since, but i thought it was novel and i loved the way you interacted with doors and drawers and stuff and although the story was uh... weird, it had a good atmosphere

Octatonic posted:is Amnesia: The Dark decent? Bonafide classic, but people tend to bounce off the actual gameplay. When you're not doing OOB stuff like this, it can be super tense. There's no actual combat, and any of the monsters will whup your rear end, so your only way to survive is to hide from them. But at the same time, sanity is a resource in this game, and spending sustained periods of time in the dark (and/or looking at creepy things) drains your sanity. So you alternate back and forth between spending time in the light to recover sanity, and burning that sanity hiding from monsters. Most of the puzzles in the game are not really hard, and just hinge on you having to solve one little piece of a puzzle at a time before dodging a monster.
