Eisenhorn could be done, but I'd want to see any treatment of 40k be more-or-less "Hard-R" and we all know it would be a PG-13 piece of trash.

(PG-13 seriously damaged big-budget movies IMO.)

An animated series would work much better than a movie, especially since high-detail assets for all the characters already exist.

I've been playing in a Dark Heresy PbP game for the last few weeks, for once as a player rather than a DM, and the game just took an unpleasant turn. It's never a good sign for the acolytes when a serious piece of Dark Eldar hardware turns up and the pilot cheerfully informs the acolytes not to worry, their Inquisitor purchased her services.

Well, we don't know she's a Dark Eldar, but based on the description of her craft and its weapons I'm pretty sure a loving Voidraven just saved the party. Or was trying to kill us. Our characters aren't sure.

don't worry she's probably reliable for the mission. If anyone's gonna peel your skin off while breaking your grip on reality it's gonna be HER, not whatever classless savages you're assigned to take care out.

Probably should make sure the engine's warmed up on the exit ship, though, just in case.

And the same probably goes for the Inquisitor. We the players aren't sure whether the whole thing was the Inquisitor trying to kill our PCs by making it look like an accident or just would have regarded us as collateral damage if the shatterfield missiles or the implosion missile killed us.

We've known since the campaign started that the Inquisitor is a member of the Ordo Xenos, but an Inquisitor who's able to hire a voidraven is probably not a good sign. It does beg the question of how the Inquisitor is paying the pilot. I don't know much about the Dark Eldar, but isn't a voidraven a pretty serious piece of equipment for them?

Yeah, uh, we don't have a ship. :v: We're a group of locals assembled by an Inquisitor who says he's here on this contested world preparing the way for a proper Imperial liberation force.

Like, if your Inquisitor is an ordos Xenos inquisitor and is working with Xeno's he's totally a heretic. Any Inquisitor that ends up using/working with the force he is fighting against has failed. Now, if your Ordos Xenos inquisitor was making daemonhosts to fight against xenos that's fine, since they are just radical. Just like an Ordos Malleus could use an Eldar weapon to fight daemons.

There are rules to this poo poo.

I dunno, planets on the contested border with the Tau Empire generally don't get the Big E. That's reserved for daemons and tyranids and poo poo, usually.

On the upside, another post by the DM overnight and the voidraven pilot helpfully informed us that it's specifically a term of her contract that she not kill the PCs on purpose. If we happen to be near one of her primary targets, though, danger close is permitted. :v:

Her target last night was the Tau military parade performed in response to our PCs leading a series of anti-Tau, pro-Imperial protests and demonstrations on the streets of the capital.

For the most part the Impurium does not do the Exterminatus unless they feel there is no way to recover the planet. And even then they might get chased off in the space battle before they can do that anyway.

This morning saw one of the more impressively stupid WH40k deaths I've ever seen: in the PbP game, the surprisingly friendly dark eldar pilot offered to share her combat stims. One of the other players, our party's Scum, took her up on that.

According to the bemused DM, he at least died happy.

I'm actually more excited for Warhammer 4th than I am for Wrath & Glory at this point. Initially I was much more interested in W&G, but so far nothing shown about W&G has really hooked me in. I was never too crazy about narrative dice rolls in the Star Wars RPG, but Warhammer is looking pretty nice. Seems like it'd wouldn't be too terrible to convert the old stuff to this newer system, which is a plus.

Speaking of this it's kinda out now.

I am guessing something went wrong on their end a bit. So they have released the preview edition. Which is the whole rulebook minus "the last maps (which will be in the endpapers of the book), page refs and the index." which they will update the PDF within 2 weeks unless something goes "disastrously" wrong.

Could be worse, the Dark Heresy game I'm playing has had the pro-Tau separatist movement on this contested world that the Inquisitor ordered our PCs to infiltrate turn out to be a Slaanesh cult. We broke out the incendiaries when the DM mentioned finding human/kroot porn in one of the cult's safehouses, mercifully without any further description.
