And the illusion is broken when viewed from the side, as the suspenders make a frame that extends forward. From the side he's suddenly 3 feet wide instead of 1.

The invisible man costume is great but it cracks me up every time because for that to make sense he has to be wearing the suspenders and bow tie without a shirt, but also still a trench coat. I'm picturing a normal person getting dressed like that and being like "yes, this is a great look"
